MERITS OF THE BLOOD

The “empty tomb” (Matt. 28:1-7; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-10) is a reality, and the cornerstone of our faith. Without the empty tomb, all preaching would be a waste of time. Paul the apostle emphasizes this in I Corinthians 15. He explains who Christ is: How He died for our sins (I Cor.…

Pardners

"In the country of the open spaces a man must have sand.  Courage is the basis upon which the others virtues are built, the fundamental upon which he is most searchingly judged.  Let a man tell the truth, stick to his pal, and fight when trouble is forced on him, and he will do to ride the river with, in the phrase of the plains."

Spiritual Lessons From The American West

The Bad Guys - Wes Hardin

(Volume 28, April 2011)

John Wesley Hardin was born May 26, 1853, in Bonham, Texas. Though undocumented, rumor had it that he was so mean, he once shot a man for snoring.

John's father, James G. Hardin, was a circuit-riding Methodist preacher, as well as part-time lawyer and school teacher.…

Project Gunrunner: Killing Americans With Incompetence

If you do nothing else in your life, then let it be sharing this. Make this information go VIRAL!

Project Gunrunner.

If you’re not familiar with the term already, it’s a name every gun owner and freedom-lover should know.

Under the “Gunwalker” program the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) has been knowingly funneling American guns into Mexico.

To make…

CARROTS not STICKS

Found this in my Bible study the other day...thought it was worth sharing.

CONSIDER THIS

As believers, we are called to proclaim the message of Christ to unbelievers in the best way we know how, being faithful to the truth. That’s really all that Peter did at Pentecost (Acts 2:14-36), but his speech produced dramatic results: the small band of Christ’s followers added 3,000 believers that day. (Acts 2:41)

In the same way, each of us needs to speak up as…

Aches of the Trail

Scars, decisions, failures, stumbling, the daily work of the job are all part of life.  The old wounds are there and man must live with them.  At times they still may ache, and the heart still feels it.  A glance in the mirror, the scar is seen, the memory returns.  There may even be once again the thought of remorse.

The aches come and I take some Advil, reach in the cabinet for the liniment, rub it on the aches, and hobble on, always forward.  Thank the good Lord for that…

To God be the Glory: What Jesus has done for me personally this past year...

Follow-up to my testimony...

God has once again worked miraculously on my behalf in the past year (besides saving me and my daughter from ruin).

In April of last year, I went into respiratory failure. I was rushed to the hospital by the life squad and put in intensive care, where I quit breathing (my lungs are in bad shape from smoking…

My Testimony

I received Jesus as my Lord back in 1960 when I was 9 years old. My childhood was spent in church and I loved the Lord. But my love waxed cold when I became a rebellious teenager. I was also a bi-polar but back in those days, there were no diagnosis to describe my condition other than anxiety/depression.

I went thru 3 marriages in my early 20's. Experimented with drugs, sex, alcohol but never…

Blessed Quietness--Holy Quietness

My wife and I were camping a couple of years ago near the Utah/Wyoming border.  The first night a storm came up, the winds blew and the rain came down.  Annie asked if the tent was going to be blown away.  I assured her that it would not blow away since we were in it, but did tell her that if might come down.

The next morning, ahhh, the air was clear and crisp, the sun shining down, and there was a wonderful freshness.  We sat around the fire before breakfast, drinking coffee and…

A Purpose For Living

I have but one purpose in life and that purpose is to become more like the Lord Jesus..." Not to become Him..but rather be more becomming to him",...the only reason I can see for the Lord to allow me to rise-up one more morning or draw one more breath of air, is to be in-filled with his Spirit.

As Chirstians we have things..."Things don't have us."...We often start…

Small Things

I was looking at some notes I had and noticed the following quotation from a book by Louis L'Amour.  "It was very small--a man could cover that fire with his hat--but it was enough for coffee."  Set me to thinking of how important and soothing little, simple things can be.  I've spent more than twice around a fire like that, and, in fact, I still keep a coffeepot, some coffee, and a cup in the truck just in case of such an "emergency."  Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not always against the… Continue

What The National Day Of The American Cowboy Is All About

Unfortunately, many people don't know that in 2005, then president George W. Bush proclaimed the last Saturday of July every year as the "National Day Of The American Cowboy." Spread the word and encourage your pastor to have an annual celebration at your church. Learn more about it on our church web site CornerstoneCowboyChurch.com
