WHATTA YA KNOW? (1Jn_2:3): KEEP is a mariner’s word. When a man is on the sea he would keep his eye on the stars and steer the ship by them. The commandments are the standard by which I chart my course.

This does not mean the man could not be blown off course, or might not over-steer or nod at the wheel or be distracted or somehow fail to keep a perfect course. But the aim, the desire, the controlling factor in his work is to keep his eye ...on the star.

1. I KNOW GOD (1Jo_2:3; 1Jo_4:7; 1Jo_4:2, 1Jo_4:6).

A. My body is His temple (1Co_6:19).
B. I know He will abide with me forever (Joh_14:16).
C. I know He will teach me all things (Joh_14:26).
D. I know He will show me things to come (Joh_16:13).
E. I know He will guide me (Joh_16:13).
F. I know He has sealed me (Eph_4:30).
G. I know He will fill me (Eph_5:18).

2. I KNOW THAT I HAVE ETERNAL LIFE

A. I have believed on Him.
B. I have loved the brethren (1Jo_3:14).
C. I have loved His Word (1Jo_2:3-5).
D. I have a witness of His Spirit within (1Jo_3:24; 1Jo_4:13; 1Jo_5:10; Rom_8:16).

3. I KNOW THAT CHRIST IS COMING AGAIN (1Jo_3:2; Joh_14:13; Mat_24:44; Act_1:10-11).

4. I KNOW THAT I WILL SEE CHRIST (1Jo_3:2).

"We know that we shall see Him." Some day the silver cord will break.

5. I KNOW THAT I SHALL BE LIKE CHRIST (1Jo_3:2).

A. I believe this literally (Phi_3:20-21; Rom_8:29).
B. Sanctification has to do with our spiritual likeness.
C. Rapture has to do with our physical likeness so Christ.
D. We will be free from all the effects of sin; and our bodies will be immortal, perfect.
