Rockport artist signs with TMG for sophomore album
ROCKPORT, Texas – Country gospel artist Genevia Johnson has just recorded her second album with Tate Music Group in Oklahoma City. The new album, influenced by country icons like Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Patsy Cline, is set to release this spring.
Johnson released her first album, “In His Hands,” in 2003. It is available for purchase at
The Rockport, Texas based artist has been singing country music since she was 12, and introduced gospel themes into her songwriting after she became a Christian. In April 2001, she founded Sanctified Hearts Ministries, which formed a traveling gospel quartet. Today, Johnson is focusing on her solo career with band members Glen and Vivian Taylor. She and her husband, Rick, who serves as her manager, have been married and making music together for 35 years.
