Jesus Awareness is MUCH, MUCH better than self-awareness

I have done something this past month that I haven't done in a long time.  I started to worry because I became aware of my own faults and weaknesses and I lost my focus on Jesus.  I started thinking about getting older and what would happen to my wife if something happened to me?  What would happen to COWBOY COUNTRY CHURCH??  Surely my wife would…

Struggling and turmoil are signs of self-awareness!!!

"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." ~Matthew 11:28
The most important thing in your life is your relationship with Jesus Christ.  But many times this life "in Christ" is…

God is looking for full custody, not week-end visitation!!!

"And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord??  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. ~1 Samuel 15:22    …

God is still and always will be the stronghold in times of trouble!!!

The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble, And those who know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; For Thou, O LORD, hast not forsaken those who seek Thee.  Psalm 9:9-10 My daddy, Louis Madison Walker, was 24 years old and a newly wed one year after the great depression hit in 1929.  My "little"…

Fear no evil for God is with YOU!!! He protects you with endless resources!!!

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;  your rod and your staff,  they comfort me." ~ Psalm 23:4

No matter what you are facing today, please take comfort in the fact that the Lord is with you and will be with you all the way, no matter what!!  His "rod and staff" stand for the resources that God has to comfort us in times of trouble and those…

Live up to your ability!!!

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. ~ 1 Corinthians 10:13      We are all tempted by the same old things.  There is nothing unusual about YOUR temptation…

Ask, believe, and continue to seek God for things that need healing in your life!!

The Bible tells us that we have not because we ask not (James 4:2), and it also tells us to ask with a believing heart and be willing to wait on the answer. We serve a God who is a healing God and a Faithful God to do what he says, but He IS God and most of the time He will do things surprisingly different than the way that you think He will; in His timing, not yours.  The healing may come instantly or it may come in…

A commandment and exhortation from God's Word to the freeloaders!!!

"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.  For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.  Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their OWN bread.  But ye,…

Rest in Jesus or self-pity in yourself; it's your choice!!!

. . . and I will give you rest —Matthew 11:28
Jesus specifically said to come to Him and He would give you rest.  If you have lost your rest in Christ, that means something has come into your life that has caused a…

"PUT A LITTLE LOVE IN YOUR HEART"!!!

Are you living in Love today??  If so, that means you are living in God and God is living in YOU because God IS Love!!  There is a sign that will tell you if your Love is strong and mature.  It will show up when you have enough boldness in your life to make every decision in your life to live like Jesus: "because as He is, so are we in this…

Do you know the heart of a stranger??

There was a time when I didn't show much mercy to those down on their luck and in need.  I grew up in a home that was not wealthy by any means, but we didn't lack for much either.  I was fortunate to have always had a pretty good job and my daddy taught me early on that a man had to work for a living.  So to my thinkin', those in need were there…

Looked in the mirror lately???

Most of you will look in the mirror this morning before you head out.  You will do this to see if you look presentable to the world.  Why not take a minute and glance into the Spiritual mirror of God's Word this morning and see what you look like to Jesus??  God's word will show you what you SHOULD look like. So don't look at it, then go your way,…

Should you know Jesus??

Why should you desire to have a personal relationship with Jesus?  Because He Loves you and He came to destroy the work of the Devil.  The work of the Devil is to destroy and kill you!!  The work of Jesus is to save you and give you eternal life.  Knowing this, which one will you serve today??  ~Pastor Lynn

I am Praying Isaiah 40:31 into your life!!!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for the desire that you put in all of mankind to know You and Your Son, Jesus.  I pray this desire to know you will grow and burn brightly in all of mankind.  Thank you, Lord, for replacing weariness with strength; thank you, Lord, for replacing stumbling steps with a life that soars like an eagle and that we…

I don't know what's after you, but get to the refuge!!!

"Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is out refuge." Psalm 62:8 I used to love to visit the wildlife refuge down by Tishomingo, Oklahoma.  It amazed me that I could get out in one of the green fields and walk through thousands of Canadian Geese, and they would hardly get out of the way or even pay any attention…

Time with Jesus ripens the fruit!!!

In John 16:7, Jesus told his disciples that it was for their advantage for him to go away.  Jesus left that earthly relationship in order to lead them, and now us, to an even closer spiritual relationship.  That's what Jesus desires of all of us; that we would take the "time" to walk more intimately with Him.  This is what "bearing fruit" is really all about and it is a visible result when you get closer to Jesus and it…

Make time for Jesus!! Is he not the Master of your life???

Rushing in and out of Worship is always the wrong thing to do....there is always plenty of time to worship God. ~Oswald Chambers  I have been guilty of this very thing, this sin, and I am NOT going to ever be guilty of it again!!!  Forgive me, Lord!!  And I am not talkin' about how long the church service last so don't worry about starving to death…

Who chooses??

“I have chosen you” (John 15:16). Does that information not humble you somewhat??  Are you in awe of the fact that God has you in the grip of His strong right hand??  We must understand that we do not have the ability to choose HIM, all we can do is choose to accept His calling and surrender our will to HIS!!   We look at it all wrong when we run around and say that we've got God.  The important thing to understand is…
