"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their OWN bread. But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother." 2 Thessalonians 3:10-15.
Seems like folks haven't changed much in the nearly 2000 years since this was first written. I know it, and you know it, that we have people that CAN work, but would rather choose not to. And they are going to drag us all down with them because the government has taken away OUR choice as to whether we help someone or not. God warns us not to be weary in well doing, but He also tells us to be good stewards of what HE provides for US. "Well doing" does not mean supporting folks who won't work and support themselves when they are able bodied. What really rubs me the wrong way is that these people are not even ashamed of the way they live and actually "expect" to be taken care of. I wish there was some other way for politicians to get elected other than going after the vote of the freeloaders. In the name of Jesus, get to work and eat your OWN bread.....some that you have actually earned!!! ~Pastor Lynn
