Profile Information

Please tell us about how you are associated with or involved in the cowboy church/ministry community.
I have been a mentor to the Australian Rodeo Pastors and Chaplains for over 30 years and have introduced rodeo cowboy church services at many rodeos and churches.
I am a member of the Warwick Baptist Church, Warwick, Queensland, Australia where I have been a church leader, children's ministry leader, occasional preacher, worship leader, home church leader. Between 1982 & 1986, I was the general manager of the Australian Rough Rider's Assn, now the Australian Pro-Rodeo Assn, and worked hard at having rodeo chaplains accepted into the association. My work paid dividends when Chris Meyer became the first official Rodeo Chaplain in the APRA during the late 1990's. Chris still holds the position.
I am now 66-years-old, a Vietnam Veteran, been involved in rodeo since age 12, and a semi-retired team roper after a career in rough stock and timed events. I judged at three National Finals Rodeo and still judge the occasional rodeo, but mainly work in the background.
I am married to Marion and we have three children, Jason is a school chaplain, Chris is an Associate Pastor and Kate is a mother and housekeeper. We have six grandchildren.
Apart from rodeo ministry, my interest is in promoting Creation to young people.
How did you find out about ICCAN?
Looking for Jeff Copenhaver's bio - he is coming to Australia soon and I will be organizing some preaching/teaching opportunities.
