Jeremiah 32:19
"Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;"

God is watching over
All the sons of men
To see the ones that will be turned away
And which ones He will gather in

So never think for a moment
Your deeds on earth are not known
That's why the Bible insructs us
We shall reap what we have sown

JUST FOR TODAY: Do not "feel" like you are alone today. If you are feeling alone, your emotions are lying to you because God is closer to you than you think. You are connected to the Lord by the bonds of His Love that nothing can ever sever or destroy. The Love connection between you and God is invisible, but that doesn't mean it isn't real. It is the ultimate in reality and your faith will open your Spiritual eyes so that you can see Him everywhere and in everything. When you become aware of His Presence, you will never feel safer or more Loved. "Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1). Faith will give you assurance that you are not alone today or any other day. ~Walker

Isaiah 54:17
"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.  This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness if of me, saith the Lord."

There will always be enemies
While we dwell here below
Thank God that our Father
Has broken the sword of our foe

Through the tonues are wagging
And the swords are flying fast
We will still be standing tall
When the smoke clears at last

JUST FOR TODAY: Don't put God on hold. The non-stop demands of the world are what you need to put on hold, and start spending some quality time with the Lord. You must remember that God should be your first Love and you must put him first in your life. If you push God into the background of your life it truly damages your relationship and fellowship with Him and all those around you. When you put God first "you have chosen the better thing, which will never be taken away from you." (Luke 10:42). God will then not only bless you, but He will also bless others through you. GIVE HIM PRAISE!!! ~Walker

Comment by Don Adkisson on July 18, 2012 at 3:50pm

So, the truth's out. I'll grasp it like a snake,--

It will not slay me. My heart shall not break....

It were less bitter! Sometimes I could weep

To be thus cheated, like a child asleep;--

Were not my anguish far too dry and deep.

Dead?--Fool! It never lived. It only stirred

Galvanic, like an hour-cold corpse. None heard;

So let me bury it without a word.

--Dinah Maria Mulock

The above was marked in a book by a maiden aunt of mine, Mary L. Fullington. The book is a collection of poems by William Cullen Bryant and published in 1873. Throughout this section of the book there are several poems, stanzas, and lines that are marked. Surely there must be a reason. I never knew the lady, but she never married. Were this marks of anguish, of dreams gone, or unrequited love?

Most have had crushes on someone at one time or another that were not returned. The dream of a knight of a white charger, or someone like "Jones" who comes along and rescues the damsel from the railroad tracks. There are the Don Quixotes of life. Most of the time they are mere fancies and soon dissipate. But it must be a deep loneliness when the person loves and does not or cannot receive love back.

If one looks just but briefly at the religion of Islam they would see the same thing. A Muslim must first love Allah before Allah will consider loving that person. That is one reason why many will die in the service of Allah; to prove their love for him. Even their revered prophet, Muhammad, was not sure that he would make it to heaven when he died. He was not sure he did enough to please and earn the love of his god.

So much more should the Christian humbly bow before his heavenly Father. The One who loved us while we were yet sinners. The One who loves us despite our actions and deeds. The One who, instead of us dying to show our love for Him, sent His Son to die for us, to show His love. It is an undying love, it is a love that is unquenchable. It is a love that continues to give.

Ah, the question now becomes--who will be the jilted party? God gives His love freely and do we shun Him? He has poured out His love and offered Himself the supreme sacrifice, but is it spurned? What can separate us from the love of God? Nothing--however, sin can separate us from Him. His love still abounds, but alas, without accepting it, the person goes through life not recognizing nor giving back love. A shame, a pity, a wasted life.

D. Adkisson

"For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly.... But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us!"

Isaiah 48:17
"Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go."

It is not in man to know the way to go
So the scriptures say
We must rely on God alone
To show us the way

To live and love and manage life
And all that is therein
For only God's amazing grace
Gives us victory over sin

JUST FOR TODAY: Fill your mind today with the thoughts that God is very real and that He is ever so close to you. If you will truly fill your mind with these thoughts and believe them with all your heart, then when you experience difficult circumstances you will automatically remember what Jesus said in Matthew 7:11, "...how much more will your Father who is in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him!" You will stop running from person to person to get help and go straight to God. The principle Jesus laid down is this: God is your Father, He Loves you, He will never forget anything you think or ask, so why should you worry?? "Ask, and it will be given to you....." Matthew 7:7. ~Walker

Ruth 4:15
"And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life..."

When our life takes a turn
That we did not plan or know
God can surely make it right
And show us the way to go

Oh, what peace is found
When we put Him at the helm
For He can guide us safely through
The natural and spiritual realm

JUST FOR TODAY: No matter what you do today, DO NOT fall into the slimy, bottomless pit of self-pity!! If you ever fall into self-pity, it seems you just go deeper and deeper until you find yourself in the profound darkness of depression. If you have already fallen in the pit, your only hope is to look up and see the light of Jesus Christ and His Presence. It may look dim from where you are, but just stay focused on Him. Slowly but surely, He will lift you out of the pit; He will cleanse you, wash you, and cover you with His Righteousness. Jesus will walk with you and help you to never fall into that pit again, but you must keep your focus on Him. (Psalm 40:2-3, Psalm 42:5, Psalm 147:11) ~Walker

Ruth 2:10
"...Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?"

Why would God show us grace
When Him we do not know
Could it be to show His love
And how far He's willing to go

To call us into His little flock
And make our way secure
In the middle of this evil world
He will teach us to be holy and pure

JUST FOR TODAY: Do not worry about tomorrow. This is not a suggestion from me, but a command from our Lord. God made day and night so that we might have manageable portions of life that we can deal with. You will find that no matter what you are facing today, God's grace is sufficient to get you through it......one day at a time. Grace is not sufficient for tomorrow, so you are on your own if you worry about the future. When you do this you are heaping more stress on your life than God intended or designed you to bear. Isn't it time you enjoyed the Presence of the Lord by Trusting Him.....one day at a time. (Matthew 6:34, Corinthians 12:9) ~Walker

Psalms 126:6
"He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

I have sown the seeds of sorrow
And watered them with my tears
And now the God of Israel
Has wiped away all my fears

There comes a time for reaping
The precious seed we have sown
Bringing in the sheaves
Knowing they're your own

Exodus 33:17
"...I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name."

When we find grace
In the Lord's precious sight
We have tapped in
To His power and might

I can think of nothing
That I would rather hear
Than the Lord call my name
Because I've drawn so near

Luk 24:13 On that same day two of Jesus' followers were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, Luk 24:14 and they were talking to each other about all the things that had happened. Luk 24:15 As they talked and discussed, Jesus himself drew near and walked along with them; Luk 24:16 they saw him, but somehow did not recognize him.

Comment by Pastor Lynn Kirkland on July 13, 2012 at 11:15am

Luk 22:60 But Peter answered, "Man, I don't know what you are talking about!" At once, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
Luk 22:61 The Lord turned around and looked straight at Peter, and Peter remembered that the Lord had said to him, "Before the rooster crows tonight, you will say three times that you do not know me."
Luk 22:62 Peter went out and wept bitterly.

JUST FOR TODAY: Today is the day you need to start enjoying the riches of your salvation and realize that God LOVES you all the time with a Love that is perfect. It is not based on how good you look, how good you perform, or how fast you correct your mistakes. God is "the Lover of your soul", and He Loves you no matter what. Because of what Jesus has done for you on the cross, God sees you clothed in His righteousness and you will always be radiant in His perfect Love. You will have a much better day if you will stop trying to "fix" yourself and fix your eyes upon Jesus with your time spent praising Him!! (Psalm 34:5, Ephesians 2:7-8) ~Walker
