We have been involved in the Cowboy Church movement since spring 2008 when we discovered Cowboy Church of Ellis County, TX; the flagship church of the American Association of Cowboy Churches.

Through 2010 and 2011 we attended AFCC Cowboy Church Planting Schools and in the summer of 2011 moved to Childress, TX to plant a Cowboy Church. That did not go too well so we searched other areas and were invited to plant a Cowboy Church in the Wind River Region of Wyoming by the Wyoming Southern Baptist Convention.

We moved to Lander, WY December 19, 2011 and held our first service the first Sunday of March 2012. We started by holding services in a tiny, (546 sq. ft.), church at the local museum that could only seat 20 - 30 comfortably. We added Saturday evening services in the fall but the little church was really cold. We had no place to hold Children's Church so families that came and liked what we were doing did not return.

In the spring and fall we held Family Roundups where children from the community could come and learn to ride horses. These were very popular events and more are requested. If we had an indoor arena we would hold them all year.

In order to grow and offer Children's Church we needed to move to larger quarters, we also needed a decent home, so we bought a property with a nice home with a converted garage living room where we are currently holding services and Children's Church. The property was a 1,600 sq. ft shop available to convert into a church.

In 2016 I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis and I had to retire from the ministry.

In 2019 having recovered as much as I can from Sarcoidosis we moved to Texarkana, TX where we became members of Bowie County Cowboy Church where I sing on a regular basis.

In 2022 I began a music, intermittent Pastor and Bible study ministry.  I serve an assisted living facility as relief Pastor each month, lead a music ministry weekly and lead a Bible study weekly at the assisted living facility and with a Christian drug treatment program.

Greetings from Andy Starks, ICCAN Education Director, and pastor of Cornerstone Cowboy Church in New Iberia, Louisiana. CornerstoneCowboyChurch.com

It's great to have you in the ICCAN "family." Take some time to look around the site and enjoy the music, messages, photos, and videos. Check out our ICCAN store, along with the Round Pen Bible Institute and "Church Directory" and "Ministry Directory" pages. Let me know if you want the church you are senior pastor of, or the ministry you are personally involved in, to be listed on one of these pages. WELCOME TO ICCAN! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
