When looking back on the lives of men and women of God, the tendancy is to say, "What wonderfully keen and intelligent wisdom they had, and how perfectly they understood all that God wanted!" But the keen and intelligent mind behind them was the mind of God, not human wisdom at all. We give credit to human wisdom when we should give credit to the divine guidance of God being exhibited through childlike people who were "foolish" enought to trust God's wisdom and His supernatural equipment. ~Oswalt Chambers
I've been getting a lot of compliments on my writing lately. I am overjoyed that you like what you read, but I am just a hairy legged old country boy from Cement, Oklahoma who Loves God and people. Please don't be braggin' on ME; I just write about what I read in God's word and the revelation I get from the Holy Spirit. Please give ALL the credit to God. It would be a terrible thing if I got the big head and started thinkin' I'm somebody; that could cause me to lose the anointing God has put on my life. I've seen it happen to a lot better preachers than me! Please just pray for me and Thank God for the work that HE is doing through me. Thank you for your prayers and YOU keep on Trusting and Growing in the Lord. I Love all of you, ~Pastor Lynn

JUST FOR TODAY: I pray that all of you are in God's hand today. If you are not, then you are very fortunate because "today is the day of salvation". Please accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus Christ has already purchased for you with His life. You can't ever earn it, you can't buy it, you can never be "good" enough to deserve it. Jesus did not die on the Cross for you because you deserved it; He did it because He Loves you. Always has, always will. ~Pastor Lynn

"I chose you....." (John 15:16) Keep these words as a wonderful reminder in your theology. It is not that you have gotten God, but that He has gotten you. God is at work bending, breaking, molding, and doing exactly as He chooses. And why is He doing it? He is doing it for only one purpose-that He may be able to say, "This is My man, and this is My woman." We have to be in God's hand so that He can place others on the Rock, Jesus Christ, just as He has placed us. ~Oswalt Chambers

JUST FOR TODAY: OK....wipe that scowl off and slap a smile on that pretty face of yours!! Be in Christ and let that new creation shine!! Let your old ways die and all things become new. Let's all be Thankful this morning to God that He leads us in Triumph through Jesus Christ!! Why be concerned about "gettin' the victory" when we belong to the "VICTOR"!! You are not a plodding pilgrim; YOU are more than a conquorer!! Forget about the artificial smell good and slap on the fragrance of Christ. If you are surrounded by the sweet aroma of Christ, YOU will be a wonderful refreshment not only to God, but to all those around you today. ~Pastor Lynn

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Dear Lord, today may bring circumstances that don't go our way and maybe we will even suffer loss of something or somebody. Your Word says "Blessed be the name of the Lord" in the very same scripture that also says that "the Lord gives and the Lord takes away". So, Lord, please help us to Praise your name no matter what this day may bring. Only you know what we need and don't need. Let us be grateful for all of our blessings, and yet prepared to let go of anything that you take from us. Please hold our hand and help us through it all, one way or another. AMEN!! ~Pastor Lynn Job 1:21

JUST FOR TODAY: Unawareness and disobedience are the two things that disrupt our closeness to the Lord. We become unaware of His Presence when we let the pressure and stress of this life cause us to forget about Him. We forget that Jesus is ALWAYS with us even when we do not "feel" His closeness. That is why we can't trust our life to the way we "feel". Disobedience to the commandments of Jesus pushes Him out of our life and slams the door in His face. Yet, He remains just outside the door of our hearts with open arms; waiting patiently for us to let him back into our lives. Marvelous ARE His works; and THAT your soul should know right well!! ~Pastor Lynn

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Dear Lord, we have come through your gate with Thanksgiving, and we are standing in your court Praising your name. Lord, you know where we are; please help US to be aware of where WE are, close to you and in your Presence. Now speak to us loudly and fluently; let us hear your voice. Please let your Holy Spirit be a lamp unto our feet to guide us and teach us all things. Let us be your vessel and be all that you want us to be. In the name of Jesus, may we always know and be aware of just how close you really are to us. Amen! ~Pastor Lynn

I was sitting here pondering what to write about; sometimes the brain just gets a little fuzzy. Then a remembrance hit me about a couple of good ol' boys, Buster Sims and Tall Bob. They were sitting in one of those modern bunkhouses as it had a refrigerator. They were sitting around the table swapping some tall tales and drinking coffee when Buster gets the urge to soothe his growling gizzard. Pushing his chair back he went to the refrigerator to grab some nourishing food--the boys were on some sort of nutrition kick. Reaching in he grabbed something and chomped down on it. With that first, and only bite, his stomach churned, his face turned into an awful grimace, and it was all he could do to hold it in until he was able to rush out the bunkhouse door.
Buster walked back in, wiping his chin with his 'kerchief, Tall Bob, the intelligent one remarked, "Ya gotta remember, Buster. Everything that's green in the bunkhouse refrigerator ain't necessarily vegetables."
In my day I can relate to the poor plight of ol' Buster Sims. Grab a piece of cheese only to find it covered with mold. Reach for the last piece of pie and find it being consumed by some hungry ants. Grabbing a swig of milk and finding it was sour. At the old hunting camp in Mississippi often all we had to eat was stale bread and green baloney. We used to have a butterscotch pie once in a while until someone decided to clean the kitchen and the pie box was thrown away.
Trouble is, the same is true when a person enters some churches. They expect a roast, some taters and gravy, green beans and they get green baloney, moldy or stale sermons, things that aren't fit for spiritual consumption. The true, sincere milk of the Word is missing and they are served sour milk. To avoid these problems it might be a good idea to pack your own "lunch." Been many a sermon that I pushed aside, and fed myself on Psalms or Proverbs. (And I better 'fess up or my wife may get me; the food at the camp wasn't bad at all.)

JUST FOR TODAY: When Jesus sets you FREE, you are FREE indeed!! As a believer, your greatest freedom through Christ is to be close to God. To get really close to God, you must enter through His gate and His court. In Psalm 100:4, King David tell us exactly how to do just that: Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. So, start your day by being thankful and then Praise God's Holy name. You may feel a closeness you've never felt before and I promise you that God will touch your life today!! ~Pastor Lynn

JUST FOR TODAY: Are you starting the week off in FEAR?? Do you need protection?? You can have it if you live in the shelter of the Most High, and abide in the shadow of the Almighty. This is a great place to live and abide. Want to move in with God?? Then tell him, "YOU are my REFUGE and my FORTRESS; YOU are my GOD, in whom I will TRUST!!". Speak this into your life right NOW, and go forth in PEACE............ ~Pastor Lynn PSALM 91:1-2

JUST FOR TODAY: In this world we live in, suffering can strike anyone of us at anytime. As believers, how are we to handle suffering. Well, the first thing we have to do is remember that God is sovereign. That means that He is in control of the situation and He can bring good out of our trials and suffering. Don't try to run or hide from your pain and problems; lay them at the foot of the cross and offer them up for God's purposes. Trusting and Thanking God in times of adversity will bring you closer to him and when the smoke clears....He will give you beauty for ashes. ~Pastor Lynn
FROM THE PASTOR'S PORCH: Come to Jesus!!
One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is Matthew 11:28-30. In fact, I wrote a song about “the great invitation” as this scripture is called back in the late “90's. The chorus is basically verse 28 and it goes like this: Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden. Come unto me, and I will give you rest. There's no greater invitation, Jesus is you true salvation; oh, come unto Him and find true peace at last. I really like this song and I think it is one of my better songs. You ought to come visit us out at COWBOY COUNTRY CHURCH sometime, and I'll sing it for you.
Of course, all songs are good songs if the lyrics are based on scriptures. As I was recently studying this scripture for a sermon, I noticed something in my song that was not in the scripture. My song speaks of Salvation and Peace, but Jesus did not not say anything in verse 28 about either one of those things. The only thing Jesus promises in this scripture is if we come unto Him, He will give us REST. Is this scripture for you?? Are you one of the “all who work hard and carry heavy burdens”?? I think almost everybody falls into this category, don't you? So why do so many people refuse this wonderful invitation??
I think its because people don't take it exactly for what it says. Jesus is not asking you to come and sign up for some big monumental task; He is not asking you to do anything but “come” and find “rest” in him. I don't know about you but I have much need in my life for some rest; especially the older I get. This is not a one time offer either. Jesus is always available for you to “come unto Him” at anytime 24/7 and find rest in His Loving arms. But what about that “Salvation” thing, and the “Peace”? Doesn't that come through Jesus, too?? Of course it does, but that doesn't happen when you come unto Him. No, you see this is all about a two way relationship. Salvation and Peace happens when Jesus comes into YOU!!
Mankind does not always answer the invitation of Jesus to come unto Him, but He never turns down an invitation to come into your heart. When you invite Jesus to come into your heart, that is when you see the light (read Acts chapter 9); that is when you see the truth, and the way, and eternal life. This is the time of Salvation and Peace. What a wonderful two way relationship!! In fact, there is no relationship like this available anywhere else. You come to Jesus; you get rest. Jesus comes to you; you get Salvation and Peace. Talk about a win, win situation. Just remember, these things don't happen without invitations. His invitation for you is in Matthew 11:28; where is YOUR invitation for HIM????
The day of Salvation is today!! If you have never invited Jesus Christ to come into your life as your personal Savior, I pray the Holy Spirit is speaking to your heart right now as you read this. Please.....come unto Him for the rest that your weary soul so desperately needs and then invite Jesus to come unto you for the peace that passes all understanding and the Salvation unto Eternal Life. Did you hear that??? I think I hear Him knocking.........
May God richly bless you today,
Pastor Lynn Walker

For several years now I have heard very few songs about heaven. Remember that place--where God abide? Heaven, the future home of the Christian; does it ring a bell? Most songs refer to self. Perhaps that is where so many are living and want to remain living is on this old earth. Give me heaven, right now, right here is the cry of their hearts.
When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.
Whooee, it makes me shiver even to write the words of that grand old song down. When J. M. Black wrote it I imagine that he had trouble keeping his feet on the ground. Imagine, that dreaded enemy, Time, will be no more. I can understand how those in early Pentecost wanted to do a run around the church.
On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.
The clouds will part, and there will no longer be any of those dreaded black clouds that brings the storms of life, nor any of the gray skies that speak of despair. Why, oh why, would anyone want to remain on this old earth when heaven and its glory is there waiting? Those who have gone on before will meet us in the air and we'll zip in through the pearly gates.
No, not yet, and we have plenty to do on this side of the golden shore, but never should our thoughts be far from heaven. Why do we do so much moaning, groaning, and complaining? Is it that we get so caught up with our cares and when those selfish prayers go unanswered what is left? Therefore...
Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.
So let's continue to labor. Let's continue to serve. Let's continue to share the good news of Jesus Christ, but be sure that your name is on the roll. Will it read Mary Lou, Lester, Gene, Paul, and Suzy Q? How about Luke, Ben, Mildred, and you?
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
D. Adkisson

Stress will melt away and you can start each day with confidence. He is still King of Kings, He still heals, He still answeres prayer, He still protects and provides for His people, and He ALWAYS Loves YOU!!! ~Pastor Lynn

JUST FOR TODAY: We humans are a fickle lot, aren't we? Our thoughts and actions run hot and cold depending on how we feel due to our current circumstances. I am glad that God is not like that. His Love for us is an ever lasting Love. Our human minds can't even really comprehend just how constant that really is. We need to look beyond our circumstances and discover that Jesus is always gazing at us with Loving eyes. Aren't you glad that His Love for you is as constant as your need of it. ~Pastor Lynn
