Proverbs 14:26-27 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. The Hebrew word for fear means reverence, dreadful, exceedingly and fearful. The root word means to revere to frighten be affright, you get the picture. America I believe has lost it's fear of God. We no longer reverence God's word nor our founding fathers. Our leaders are redefining our constitution to fit there way of thinking and the liberial church is buying into the doctrines they are pushing. They say 85% of Americans believe in God but how many are following Godly doctrines that changes a person's life. The fear of God is not only reverence but this fear should effect a person where they do not want to displease the Lord Jesus Christ. When a person truely fears God their will be a confidence that would draw them to Holiness , PURITY AND SANTIFICATION There desires will be want to please Him instead of doing any thing they want to and see how far they can get away with doing the wrong thing. When we please Jesus our hearts will rejoice, and when we do wrong our hearts should be troubled because the Holy Spirit will be troubled or grieved because we chose not to fear Him, obey Him and reverence Him. This kind of fear make us run to Jesus Christ and not run from Him because He is our only Refuge. So run to Him and let the fear of God be your confidence and Refuge. bill clites william-clites.com
