Waiting on God

Think about how impatient we get when we have to wait on God. We often think waiting is a waste of time. When we wait we think were doing nothing. Waiting serves many purposes. It proves how much faith we really have. Those who are weak give up easy, while those who are strong are willing to wait as long as it takes. When we read in Luke 2 we see Simeon and Anna waited a long time, but their time wasnt wasted,it put them in place to be a witness to Jesus birth.v22-38 Not receiveing an…

Finding Yourself Spiritually Far From God

Acts 7:40-43

"They told Aaron, 'Make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who led us out of Egypt--we don't know what has happened to him!' That was the time they made an idol in the form of a calf. They brought sacrifices to it and held a celebration in honor of what their hands had made. But God turned away and gave them over to the worship of the heavenly bodies. This agrees with what…

A Real Heart Issue

Acts 7:37-39

"This is that Moses who told the Israelites, 'God will send you a prophet like me from your own people.' He was in the assembly in the desert, with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers; and he received living words to pass on to us. But our fathers refused to obey him. Instead, they rejected him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt."…

Alone but not Lonely

The Bible is full of people who struggled with loneliness. Sometimes when we read their stories we feel comfortable with the familiarity of them and don’t really consider their extenuating circumstances.

Take Moses for example. We usually think of how God answered the prayers of his mother’s heart and how blessed he was to have been plucked out of the Nile by Pharaoh’s daughter. But I’m sure he felt the stares and whispers as the only Hebrew in an Egyptian royal household. While he…

How will you answer God's call?

 Acts 7:34b-36

"'Now come, I will send you back to Egypt.' This is the same Moses whom they had rejected with the words, 'Who made you ruler and judge?' He was sent to be their ruler and deliverer by God himself, through the angel who appeared to him in the bush. He led them out of Egypt and did wonders and miraculous signs in Egypt, at the Red Sea and for forty years in the desert." Thoughts for Today:

As Stephen recounts the story of Moses to the Sanhedrin, he uses these words…

I Remember

May the Lord answer you when you are in trouble. May the God of Jacob keep you safe. May he send you help from the sacred tent. May He give you aid from Zion. May He remember all of your sacrifices. May He accept your burnt offerings. May He give you what your heart longs for. May He make all of your plans succeed (Psalm…

Intimacy with God

Intimacy with God . . . what is it and how is it attained? There are many methods, and sometimes it seems hard to accomplish. Feeling led to approach this subject from a different angle; I decided to share what I’ve learned from my own experiences.

God created each of us with a longing for intimacy -- intimacy with Him. We must, therefore, come to some understanding of what He is asking of us and what He is offering. We must come to the realization that we were created…
