My daddy built this little house on the West edge of Cement, Oklahoma back in 1938. My brother, Larry Joe Walker was born in this house in 1941. The original house was the part on the right side, just three rooms. Dad built the "left wing" on to add an indoor plumbing bathroom and another bedroom. My Daddy also built the tin building on the East side of this house and had an auto repair business, but later it became a laundry mat, complete with the most up to date ringer washing machines. No dryers; you just washed your clothes and then put them in wooden bushel baskets and took them home to dry them on a clothes line. Have things changed a little or what???? — in Cement.
