"And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord??  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. ~1 Samuel 15:22
Burnt offerings and sacrifices were the manner of worshiping God in the Old Testament; represents what we do today in modern churches.  We have the same problems today as Samuel is having with Saul, the new King.  There are many who go to church on Sunday but live by their own rules the rest of the week.  God is looking for full custody, not week-end visitation.  Not saying that going to church is not important, that is part of being obedient also, but worshiping without obedience to all of God's Word is looked at by God as the sin of rebellion and stubbornness.  God looks at these sins as rejection; if you reject God then don't be surprised when He rejects YOU!!!  ~Pastor Lynn

Psa 3:3-4 But you, O LORD, are always my shield from danger; you give me victory and restore my courage. I call to the LORD for help, and from his sacred hill he answers me.

Psa 2:10 Now listen to this warning, you kings; learn this lesson, you rulers of the world:
Psa 2:11 Serve the LORD with fear; tremble
Psa 2:12 and bow down to him; or else his anger will be quickly aroused, and you will suddenly die. Happy are all who go to him for protection.

The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble, And those who know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; For Thou, O LORD, hast not forsaken those who seek Thee.  Psalm 9:9-10 My daddy, Louis Madison Walker, was 24 years old and a newly wed one year after the great depression hit in 1929.  My "little" brother, Purcy, was born in 1931.  The great depression made a great impression on my daddy; he talked about it a lot.  "tight money and hard times" were major topics of conversation among folks from that era.  But God did not forsake my Momma and Daddy.  Times were hard, but they trusted God and He got them through all those hard times and led them to prosperity.  God has not changed since 1929 and we of the 21st century can still enjoy the stronghold of HIS Love.  Let God be your stronghold in times of trouble and KNOW that His name means protection and salvation!!  Put your trust in the Lord today and when you seek Him he will never, ever forsake you.  ~Pastor Lynn

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;  your rod and your staff,  they comfort me." ~ Psalm 23:4
No matter what you are facing today, please take comfort in the fact that the Lord is with you and will be with you all the way, no matter what!!  His "rod and staff" stand for the resources that God has to comfort us in times of trouble and those resources are endless.  Walk in HIS peace today knowing that the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the name above all names, JESUS CHRIST is with you today and He Loves you dearly.  ~Pastor Lynn

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. ~ 1 Corinthians 10:13      We are all tempted by the same old things.  There is nothing unusual about YOUR temptation and God says that HE is Faithful not to let you be tempted beyond YOUR ability.  So, if you have succumbed to a particular temptation, does that mean that God lied to you??  Of course he didn't!!  You just failed to live up to your ability!!  The escape lies in being obedient and living life HIS way.  Suck it up cowboy, and start living the way you know that you should!!  ~Pastor Lynn

The righteous are guided and protected by the LORD, but the evil are on the way to their doom.

Psa 1:1a Happy are those who reject the advice of evil people... Psa 1:3 They are like trees that grow beside a stream, that bear fruit at the right time, and whose leaves do not dry up. They succeed in everything they do.

Psa 1:1 Happy are those who reject the advice of evil people, who do not follow the example of sinners or join those who have no use for God.
Psa 1:2 Instead, they find joy in obeying the Law of the LORD, and they study it day and night.

The Bible tells us that we have not because we ask not (James 4:2), and it also tells us to ask with a believing heart and be willing to wait on the answer. We serve a God who is a healing God and a Faithful God to do what he says, but He IS God and most of the time He will do things surprisingly different than the way that you think He will; in His timing, not yours.  The healing may come instantly or it may come in time....sometimes what seems a very long time to us. The key lies in patience and continual Trust in the ONE who can heal sick bodies, troubled minds, broken hearts, lives and even relationships; just remember to "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find." ~Matthew 7:7

. . . and I will give you rest —Matthew 11:28
Jesus specifically said to come to Him and He would give you rest.  If you have lost your rest in Christ, that means something has come into your life that has caused a misfire in your relationship of "coming" to Jesus.  Whenever ANYTHING is hampering your relationship with Jesus you must fight against it by turning immediately to Him at once!!  Ask Jesus to re-establish your rest in Him and to put awareness of Himself in you.  It is when we lose our awareness of Jesus that we become full of self-awareness and lose our rest.  Self-awareness leads to worry, fear, and gives birth to self-pity.  I have never seen a soul full of self-pity that rested very well.  Stay focused today on the Lord Jesus instead of yourself and enjoy the rest!!  ~Pastor Lynn

Are you living in Love today??  If so, that means you are living in God and God is living in YOU because God IS Love!!  There is a sign that will tell you if your Love is strong and mature.  It will show up when you have enough boldness in your life to make every decision in your life to live like Jesus: "because as He is, so are we in this world."  Also there is no fear in Love; strong, mature Love will throw fear out the window!!  Why?  Because fear will torment you and Jesus does not want you to be tormented.  If you are afraid today, that doesn't mean you don't Love Jesus, it just means your Love is not quiet strong and mature enough.  All you have to do is make the right decision and "Put a little (more) Love in your Heart"!!!  Loving You, ~Pastor Lynn

If your horse is taking you down the wrong trail, it's
not his fault; you're the one with the reins in your
hands. If your life is going down the wrong trail,
check and see whose hands the reins are in~
yours or the Lord's. "He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake" (Ps. 23:3).  ~THE LOST COWBOY CHURCH

There was a time when I didn't show much mercy to those down on their luck and in need.  I grew up in a home that was not wealthy by any means, but we didn't lack for much either.  I was fortunate to have always had a pretty good job and my daddy taught me early on that a man had to work for a living.  So to my thinkin', those in need were there because they were lazy and didn't want to work.  The thought never crossed my mind that some weren't able to work or that sometimes life just deals you a real bad hand.  Then it happened to me.  God jerked a pretty hard knot in my life some twenty years ago, and showed me what it was like to be down and out.  Now it's a whole lot harder for me NOT to help others in need.  Next time you feel real judgmental about some one, better stop and think about except for the grace of God, it could be YOU.  "Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt" ~Exodus 23:9  ~Pastor Lynn

Most of you will look in the mirror this morning before you head out.  You will do this to see if you look presentable to the world.  Why not take a minute and glance into the Spiritual mirror of God's Word this morning and see what you look like to Jesus??  God's word will show you what you SHOULD look like. So don't look at it, then go your way, and forget all about it.  "But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty (God's Word), and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." ~James 1:25.  Bottom line, if you want to be blessed and successful today in every thing you do, it's a lot more important for you to look good to Jesus than it is to look good to the world.  ~Pastor Lynn

Why should you desire to have a personal relationship with Jesus?  Because He Loves you and He came to destroy the work of the Devil.  The work of the Devil is to destroy and kill you!!  The work of Jesus is to save you and give you eternal life.  Knowing this, which one will you serve today??  ~Pastor Lynn
