Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for the desire that you put in all of mankind to know You and Your Son, Jesus.  I pray this desire to know you will grow and burn brightly in all of mankind.  Thank you, Lord, for replacing weariness with strength; thank you, Lord, for replacing stumbling steps with a life that soars like an eagle and that we can run our race like the wind; thank you, Lord, for allowing us to walk each day with you that we might not faint from all the problems of this life.  We could never accomplish these mighty things on our own without you!!  Hope, Trust, and Believing in YOU is the greatest blessing that we will ever have.  We give you Praise this morning in Jesus' name, AMEN!!

Psa 100:3  Acknowledge that the LORD is God. He made us, and we belong to him; we are his people, we are his flock.
Psa 100:4  Enter the Temple gates with thanksgiving; go into its courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise him.

"Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is out refuge." Psalm 62:8 I used to love to visit the wildlife refuge down by Tishomingo, Oklahoma.  It amazed me that I could get out in one of the green fields and walk through thousands of Canadian Geese, and they would hardly get out of the way or even pay any attention to me; they were so calm, at peace, and showed no signs of fear.  They couldn't read the sign that said "refuge" but some how they knew they were safe while on that refuge.  A refuge is a place of safety, protection, rest, and Peace; a place to "get away" from the stress, fears, and dangers of this life.  We should be more like Geese and TRUST the Refuge!!!  Pour out your heart to Jesus today and let Him be your refuge!!  ~Pastor Lynn

I Pause to Remember

I remember as a child my 3rd grade music teacher, Mrs. Lee saying Jerry you can't study too much. She was perhaps the most inspiring teacher I ever had. Now I wish I had listened to her more at that time than I did, however those words were forever to remain with me and when Our LORD called me into the ministry in 1977 one of the first versus GOD brought me to was      " 2 Timothy 2 ; 15 " Study to shew thyself approved unto GOD, a workman that needeth' not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth." If I may, let me encourage everyone to heed the challenge's of this verse. It is my considered opinion if we are to glean all of the value from these words of exhortation it would be to realize the first thing, Is who's approval we are seeking? If we are doing it for any reason other than to be obedient to GOD, we have failed already. The moment we yielded our heart, soul, body, mind, spirit and strength to GOD our lives should have become an  attitude of servitude, working... not for salvation but because of it. A workman (ministry) to bring honor and glory to GOD, not shame and reproach as we rightly divide the WORD Of TRUTH. GODs Word is of no private interpretation. GOD says what HE means and means what HE says ,so why try to change it ?  I realize there seems to be as many opinions as there are ministers but in the end the truth will be revealed by The Spirit of GOD. It's OK to seek wisdom and understanding from our elders, pastors and teachers but remember "Above Everything Else, Be True To Thine Own Heart" Hear What the Spirit says...GOD will never deceive you... "Happy Trails"

PS

Thanks to ICCAN Staff and Members for your prayers. GOD Bless !

In John 16:7, Jesus told his disciples that it was for their advantage for him to go away.  Jesus left that earthly relationship in order to lead them, and now us, to an even closer spiritual relationship.  That's what Jesus desires of all of us; that we would take the "time" to walk more intimately with Him.  This is what "bearing fruit" is really all about and it is a visible result when you get closer to Jesus and it brings much Joy to Him, to you, and to all those around you.  Fruit needs to be ripe and in it's fullest condition during harvest time.  That time is drawing nearer and nearer; are you ripe and ready?? (see John 15:1-4)  ~Pastor Lynn

Rushing in and out of Worship is always the wrong thing to do....there is always plenty of time to worship God. ~Oswald Chambers  I have been guilty of this very thing, this sin, and I am NOT going to ever be guilty of it again!!!  Forgive me, Lord!!  And I am not talkin' about how long the church service last so don't worry about starving to death next Sunday.  But even if the church service does run over a few minutes, would you rather have a pastor who watched the clock or worshipped??  What I'm really speaking of is about my own personal, daily private quite time and fellowship with the Lord. It is something we should all be concerned about.  When we stand before God, He is NOT going to ask us what the denomination of the church was we attended or how long the service lasted.  What he WILL ask us and measure us by is how well did we know His Son, Jesus, and what was the depth of our intimacy with HIM??   Chew on that a while, Christian.  ~Pastor Lynn

I keep my nose on the grindstone, I work hard every day Might get a little tired on the weekend, after I draw my pay But I'll go back workin', come Monday morning I'm right back with the crew I'll drink a little beer that evening, Sing a little bit of these working man blues” ~Merle Haggard

In the past, I have sung this song many times under neon signs in smokey old bars and honky-tonks.   I'm glad I don't do that any more.  It is a sad life when all we have to look forward to is getting back to work on Monday morning and partying on the week-end.   Never got any real satisfaction out of livin' like that.  I think I'll change the lyrics a little bit into something that really works:

I KEEP MY MIND ON JESUS, I THINK ABOUT HIM EVERY DAY

I GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY, AND I WORSHIP HIM AND PRAY!! AND I KEEP ON PRAISIN', COME MONDAY MORNING I'LL LET HIM LEAD THE WAY!!

I'LL PRAY A LITTLE BIT IN THE EVENING,

AND SING A LITTLE BIT OF “I'LL FLAY AWAY”!!!  ~Pastor Lynn

“I have chosen you” (John 15:16). Does that information not humble you somewhat??  Are you in awe of the fact that God has you in the grip of His strong right hand??  We must understand that we do not have the ability to choose HIM, all we can do is choose to accept His calling and surrender our will to HIS!!   We look at it all wrong when we run around and say that we've got God.  The important thing to understand is that God has got US!!!  He is the potter and we are the clay.  God Loves you and wants so much to work in your life today.  Let your Faith rise up and believe this: He can make so much more of you than you can make of yourself!!  ~Pastor Lynn

What is Wisdom?  Some folks think it means having the right answers.  Some folks think it means knowing the truth.  Just knowing the right answers and knowing the truth is not Wisdom; and just "knowing" is not going to help you very much.  The "knowing" has to be followed up by the "doing" for it to be "Wisdom".  You see Wisdom is very closely tied to FAITH.  You will not do something if you don't have faith in it will you??  So what is the definition for Wisdom??  Wisdom is knowing the TRUTH, which is the Word of God and having enough Faith in it to be LIVING it!!  Now that's WISDOM!!  Thank you Holy Spirit.....I needed this today.  ~Pastor Lynn

God said to listen to Him intently and diligently, and eat that which is good.  What is "that which is good"??  It is God's Word that is good.  We do not call it "the Good Book" for nothing!!  If you will digest a little of his Word today, your soul will delight itself in fatness. (Isaiah 55:2) There are way to many skinny souls out there to suit God.  As for me, I like the part about God's Word that it shall prosper in the thing whereto He sent it; and I know He has sent it to ME!!  Just what does this prospering Word lead to??  "For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace" (Isaiah 55:12)  JOY......and PEACE.......I think I might just read a little more out of the "Good Book" today; how about YOU??  ~Pastor Lynn

A nation is not x amount of real-estate; a nation is a land filled with people; people are what makes a nation.   A church is not a church because it is a nice building with a steeple and a cross on it; a church building only becomes a church when it is filled with believing people who are worshiping and seeking God.  And you are not a whole person and a child of God without the Spirit of Jesus Christ living within you; without JESUS we are only souls that are lost and physical bodies that are wearing out and dying.  Two out of three ain't enough!!   Who needs JESUS in their life today??  The answer is a no brainer......we all do.  ~Pastor Lynn

"You notice that's the way life is?  You never get to go back."    --Stephen Bly

"The first man into camp started a fire...."      --Louis L'Amour

Get your gear together it's almost time to pull out.  Another summer is over and we need to find out where the Lord wants us come this fall.  The bunkhouse--quite a place in western lore; quite a place in a person's life.  However, very few live in a bunkhouse for the duration of their life, it was a temporary dwelling place.

There were a few things that the bunkhouse afforded its occupants.  First, it was a place to sleep.  A place to lay down after a hard days work and let the body recuperate for a few hours.  Work was from dawn to dusk and unless a person had to pull night duty the bunkhouse was a place to rest.  Oh, there may be a few things that took place in the bunkhouse; maybe some cards, dominoes, checkers, but mostly it was the place to rest from the work.

Second, the bunkhouse was a place where a person could keep their belongings.  There were very few thieves in a bunkhouse, they realized that it was close quarters but every person's bunk was his own.  He could put his property on his bunk and it would be left alone.  Men who worked and rode together didn't steal from each other.

And I just have to bring it up.  Go to the bunkhouse and there was always coffee sitting on the stove.  If the pot was empty it was up to the person who came in to get the makings ready for another pot and get it started.  That pot was part of the refuge of the bunkhouse, it symbolized the little bit of home that they had.

So tomorrow, we move out of the bunkhouse to face the pains and problems of the day.  One more cup of coffee with the gang, one more smile, probably a few stories of the ordeals of the summer, and maybe a laugh or two.  Each person as he lies down to rest for the night will take a few minutes to remember the days of that bunkhouse.

Every human being (yes, even me and you) has been provided with a way of access unto the very Presence of God.  His name is JESUS....and Jesus is not "a" way; Jesus is the "ONLY" way!!  "For God so loved the world (mankind) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." ~John 3:16  I challenge you to speak the name of Jesus with Joy and Truth as many times as you can today, and see what kind of day you have.  ~Pastor Lynn

"As for me, being on the way, the Lord led me..." ~Genesis 24:27  I used to spend way too much time continually asking God what He wanted me to do or where he wanted me to go.  When my children were little, they didn't have to come running to me constantly asking me where they should go or what they should do.  Why?  Because I always gave them that information and "led" them to where I wanted them to be.  And now I look back and see an amazing design of how God has done the same thing for me!!  Never believe that the so-called random events of life are anything less than God's appointed order and leadership!!  We just have to have Faith that God's plan is always leading us toward HIS purpose for our life.  Instead of asking for God's direction today, try having FAITH and be ready to discover HIS divine plan anywhere and everywhere!!  As a born again "child" of God, just TRUST Him,  Daddy will make sure you know what to do if you will just pay attention and be obedient to whatever He puts in front of you!!!  ~Pastor Lynn

Psa 119:73

You created me, and you keep me safe; give me understanding, so that I may learn your laws.
