JUST FOR TODAY: Be one of those people who believe that Jesus Christ can save your soul. Also believe that Jesus is capable of saving any ones soul because He is. No one has a monoply on God. He is no respector of any particular people, race, or denomination and He Loves us all. If you are truly justified then you will live by Faith and you will never draw back into the darkness. ~Pastor Lynn (Hebrews 10:38,39)

JUST FOR TODAY: Don't Worship nothin' but God! Idol worship has always been the downfall of God's people and today's idols are even more dangerous than the ancient ones because they have nothing to do with "Religion". Todays idols are self-realization, other people, possessions, money, and status. The glow of this world's idols is very dim compared to the Brilliant and Everlasting light of God's Love. There has never been an idol that could bring Joy and Peace to anyone. Let's all GIVE HIM PRAISE--Today!! ~Pastor

Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!

Need to hear from the Lord?
Grab a pitch fork and head on out to the barn.
I had the fork full of "horse apples" and sawdust, as I began shaking that fork
the sawdust would fall out and remain where it was needed; what was left behind
was the “horse apples" which were tossed out. The Lord showed me this is what
I do with my people. Lord shake me up and take away all my impurities.

JUST FOR TODAY: I saw God's sunrise this mornin'. I ran
through His hills and wilderness. I swam in His cool waters. I breathed the fresh air that He made just for me. I looked and saw life all around me. I have tasted His Goodness and I am in awe of His majestic handiwork. Thank you Lord for healing me and makin' me strong Spiritually, Emotionally, and Physically. I
pray the same for all of my friends. ~Pastor Lynn

Howdy Jeff!!  I Love your Round Pen poem.  Your giving credit to me for inspiring such a work is a great honor to me.  I certainly don't mind and hope you will always feel free to use my writings in any way you like.  The way I look at it, all good things come from above and the "good" things we write are really all inspired by the Holy Spirit, so it all belongs to God anyway.  GIVE HIM PRAISE!!!  I am looking forward to more "good" poems from you.  Thank you and may God richly Bless you, Pastor Lynn

A while back, Pastor Lynn Walker posted some thoughts about Getting out of the Round Pen.  Well, that triggered some thoughts of my own.  Lynn, I hope you don't mind that I took your inspiration and turned it into a poem.

Stuck in the Round Pen

For those who’ve never trained a horse, there’s something you should know.

It’s about what’s called the Round Pen.  It’s where most horses go

to learn to follow signals thru a tender teaching touch.

But, horses in the round pen can only learn so much.

Pretty soon, a cowboy needs to let the pony out

so it can use what it’s been taught.  Cause training’s all about

just getting ready for the ride and knowing what to do

when challenges and obstacles pop up in front of you.

Like ponies, we can study until the cows come home

in the safety of our round pen.  But really, we should roam

outside our Bible study group, outside our churches walls

and use our training where it counts, in grocery stores or malls

or at the doctor’s office, or any other place

where we can show God’s saving love and talk about His Grace.

But, I’m just like a fresh-broke colt that shivers at the thought

of leaving comfort zones behind.  I’d really rather not

put my faith out on display where others criticize

so I seek incognito ways I can evangelize.

I can talk about the weather, TV shows and foreign aid.

I can argue over politics or the latest sports team trade.

But when it comes to life and death, I seek my comfort zone

cause there’s no confrontation in my round pen all alone.

But God’s Word says to go and do.  So, I must get a grip.

Security’s not the round pen, it’s in relationship.

The closer that I get to God, the more my faith increases

and when I leave my round pen, I won’t go to pieces.

I’ll walk and talk with confidence about my transformation

since I accepted Jesus Christ, the gateway to salvation.

I know that God is faithful and with him I’ll succeed

so let’s all leave the round pen with Jesus in the lead.

JUST FOR TODAY: Control your thoughts. You CAN control your
thinking more than you realize. Just like anything else it takes practice. Practice thinking about positive things-Trusting the Lord, Thanking the Lord, Loving the Lord. Reject all negative or sinful thoughts and don't try to hide them from God. Confess them and leave them with Him. Then you can go on about your business today in Peace. ~Pastor Lynn

FROM THE PASTOR'S PORCH: Do you have time for Jesus?

Folks, I don't know about you, but I am really gettin' tired of my life running at warp speed. Warp speed?? A preacher?? Yeah, I know; you're thinkin', "Good Lord, He only works on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings!" Well, there's just a little more to it than that, but I'm not gonna get in to that right now. I'm not talking about just my job, but my personal life as well.

I've got more stuff goin' on than I can shake a stick at. More cars, more channels on the TV, more communication (websites, cell phones, emails, facebook), more yard, more animals, more travel, more house, more bills, more activities, more, more more, more of everything........ You know what's crazy about all this is that I wanted all of this stuff; some of it I even prayed for!! I've been told that there is no such thing as too much fun, but I'm beginning to rethink that a little.

I know that God is the master of taking something that Satan intended to harm us with and He can turn it into something good. I am also beginning to understand that sometimes we are so busy enjoying our blessings that we don't have time for the Loving, personal relationship with the one who gave them to us!! We should never get so busy with "the good life" that we neglect our relationship with God. Spending quiet time with the Lord is when we are standing on Holy Ground.

Satan will use the business and stress of this world to try to destroy our relationship with God. Good things can become bad things if you are so busy doing them that you don't have any quality time to spend with the Lord. You should never feel guilty about spending time reading God's Word, Praying, or spending quite time in His Presence. These are the very thing that please God the most and they are also the things that increase your Faith, and give you tremendous Strength, Joy, and Peace.

My question for you today is do you enjoy your blessings or do you worship them. Are you putting all of your "stuff" and your "pet projects" (even if they're all good) in front of your time with the Lord. Sounds like idol worship to me, and God will not tolerate it.

My Prayer for you today is that you will remind yourself of what your real blessing is, and that is a personal, Loving relationship with Jesus Christ. All of your good works and all of your good "stuff" will not give you the security you are searching for in this life, and certainly not in the next. I pray that we will all slow down a little; take time to humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face, and turn from our neglectfully wicked ways. God has promised us if we do these things He will forgive us and Heal our land. Sign me up!!! ~Pastor Lynn

"I smell the hot coffee;

 It floats ont he wind."

          --Red Steagall

Ah, the coffee tasted good this morning.  With all the burn bans throughout the country hard to enjoy a cup around a campfire, but guess sitting around the table in the kitchen with friends works almost as well.  Here's a thought to ponder:

Ever stop to think why God made so many wide open spaces?  There is the vastness of the oceans, and the white Arctic tundra.  Stand on top of a hill and look at the expanse of the prairie, or on a mountain in the Southwest and gaze down on the extent of the desert land.  Perhaps, it is to give us an appreciation of the vastness of God.  There is no limit to His attributes, they are as vast as the great wilderness areas.  Perhaps, also, that is why God often sends His people to the wilderness--so they can understand a little of His immensity, so they can hear Him speak in the great silences.

As the poet said, there is not enough sky to write about the love of God, nor if the oceans were ink, enough of it to tell of His love.  The next time you cross or see some of the vast areas of land, stop--stop and really see.

                                      Vaya con Dios,

                                               Don

JUST FOR TODAY: Are you FREE?  I certainly hope so, because Jesus died on the cross to make you that way.  Because of the cross you are FREE to Love Him and to
Follow Him!  Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  As you follow Him, He
will lead you down roads that you have never thought about or even imagined were
possible to travel.  Don't worry about what lies up ahead on this marvelous road
you are traveling.  Your security lies simply in knowing Him and that He Loved
you enough to die for you and set you FREE!!  GIVE HIM PRAISE!!!  ~Pastor

FROM THE PASTOR'S PORCH: Are you Stressed or Blessed?

Sure has been hot and dry, ain't it? Whew.... sure would like to see a good, long pourin' rain real soon. The only thing that seems to be pourin' out on me lately is trouble. Doom, despair and agony on me....... A few days ago my airconditioning went out in everything I own; all of it!! I mean both vehicles and the house. No air. The blower motor went out on the house unit; The wiring harness burned up on the Durango's fan motor; the freon leaked out of the pickup. Well, the wife and I thought we would just take all this in stride, so we just broke out the box fans and went down to the lower level of the cabin where it's cooler and we'd just watch ourself a little TV. Nope. That didn't work either. Our big old used 32" TV has bit the dust as well. 100 degrees plus and no airconditioning and no TV. My wife has such a beautiful smile..... but she was not showin' it at the time. To top it all off, I start havin' some pretty serious blood pressure issues. So, Casey loads me up and takes me to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital (with all the windows rolled down, of course). One of the first questions the Doctor ask me was, "have you been under any more stress than normal lately?"............. That Doctor is now recovering nicely from his injuries. Just kidding..... What I really did was tell the nice Doctor that I didn't have any stress in my life; I was a minister!!!

Was I stressed out a little?? Oh yeah, I was about to blow a head gasket, but I am so thankful for God Almighty, the Holy Spirit, and His precious Word. I prayed about all this mess and then I began to search His Word. I came upon this Scripture; Isiah 41:10~ Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Hey, with a promise like this, how could anyone stay stressed out!! Then I remembered it's a whole lot better to be blessed than stressed, so I decided to turn it all over to God and Trust Him to work it all out. Then I wrote this post on my Facebook page: "JUST FOR TODAY: All is well as long as you are Trusting in Jesus and conscious of His Presence. How can you possibly stumble if you are living in the light of His Love and obeying His Laws of Love. It is mind blowing to see extremely difficult circumstances just melt away when you are holding His hand! Jesus truly is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and all things and circumstances bow to Him. ~Pastor Lynn." And you know what? Now everything I own is blowin' cold air, a friend loaned me a TV, I have four new tires on my truck, my blood pressure is now stable, and even my old bad knee isn't hurting anymore!!

I don't know what your troubles are, but I know that we all have them. We are all vulnerable to the darkness that is always at work in this old sinful world. So what's it gonna be for you?? Stressed or Blessed? My prayer for you today is that you will remember: Trouble, Fear, bad circumstances and anxious thoughts truly do melt away in the Presence of God when you put your Trust in Him. If you need to unwind a little, come on over to my house where it's nice and cool and we'll watch a little TV.....

May you be richly blessed,

Pastor Lynn

JUST FOR TODAY: Get up and face the day knowing that you are not alone. Speak the name of Jesus and He will be with you. Don't rehash yesterday and don't worry about tomorrow. You may not be clear headed and thinking straight yet this morning, but Jesus is. Your day will be more "user friendly" when you focus on Him. How can you dread the day when you have such a powerful friend as your companion? If you ain't smiling yet, you ought to be. ~Pastor Lynn (Psalms 5:3, 63:1, Philippeans 4:11)
