JUST FOR TODAY: Direct your attention on the Lord in hopeful anticipation of what he is going to do in your life today. Trust Him with every fiber of your being, instead of trying to figure out the problems of life by yourself. Waiting on God is the way He designed us to live; All day and every day. He created us to stay conscious of Him as we go about our daily lives. Here is a partial list of the many blessing for those who wait on the Lord. 1. Gives Renewed Strength 2. Allows Living ABOVE your circumstances 3. Causes a Resurgence of Hope. 4. Makes you aware of God's Presence 5. It Glorifies God 6. Lets you live in dependence on God 7. keeps you ready to do God's will. And most of all it helps you to enjoy God because "in His presence is the fulness of Joy".

Zephaniah 2:3
"Seek the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment: seek righteousness, seek meekness, it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord's anger."

Seek for yourself a refuge
A place where you can go
To escape the wath to come
While living here below

You won't believe the power
That is found in meekness
Even though the world
May see it as weakness

JUST FOR TODAY: Keep your mind set on being Thankful. Thankfulness keeps you in touch with the Lord. On the flip side, God hates it when His children Grumble and Complain. You cannot expect good things in your life if you casually despise God's sovereignty over ALL of your circumstances. Thankfulness will protect you from this deadly sin. Being Thankful allows you to see the light of God's presence in ALL of your circumstances. Let you heart grow in Thankfulness beause it will Glorify God and fill your life with JOY!! Zechariah 4:10
"For who hath despised the day of small things?..."

Small stones slew a giant
A small prayer brought down fire
Don't despise the small things
For Satan is a liar

Satan tries to belittle
And make you small in your own eyes
But little is much when God is in it
So don't believe his lies

Zechariah 4:6
"...Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts."

It will not be our power
It will not be our might
That causes us to win the war
Or causes us to win the fight

It will be his precious Spirit
That gives us the grace
To overcome our enemy
And look him in the face

JUST FOR TODAY: The good Lord takes great pleasure in hearing ALL of you prayers, so feel free to bring all of your request to Him. Answers to prayer are directly proportional to how many prayers you pray!! In other words, the more you pray, the more answers you will recieve. If you will Trust all the details of your life to Jesus, you will be pleasantly surprised at how thoroughly He responds to each of your prayers. Because He is infinite in ALL of His ways, you never have to worry about Him running out of answers or resources. ABUNDANCE is at the very heart of who He is. ~Walker

Be strong in the Lord
And in the power of his might
Knowing as you work in his field
Your enemy will soon take flight

For you know the Lord is with you
And he will see you through
Blessing the work of your hands
Blessing all you say and do

FROM THE PASTOR'S PORCH: How important is Obedience?? The summer of 2004 was a very hard time for me and my wife, Casey. I had quit my job in OKC and we moved down to Chickasha to be close to our daughter. She was was very ill and in the third stage of lymphoma cancer plus pregnant on top of all of that. Casey and I were broke and homeless so we moved in with Casey's mother at Ninnekah. We had an old minivan that was pretty much on it's last legs and no money for gas anyway. If it had only cost a nickle to ride the Queen Mary, all we could have done was run up and down the bank hollerin' “man, that's cheap!!” Just about in the middle of all of this, God said to me, “ I want you to start a Cowboy Church in Chickasha”. If you think this is a pretty strange story, it's even weirder than you think. Here I am at 54 years of age, no seminary training, and no pastoral experience what soever. I not only didn't know anything about being a Pastor or starting a church, I didn't even suspect anything about it. I had spent most of my adult life not even going to church and had just recently gotten back into church and had some experience as a Praise and Worship Leader. BUT, God said to start a church. Well, I certainly didn't know what I was doing, but I was pretty sure that God knew what HE was doing, and I was pretty sure that I should be obedient to His instructions. So, Casey went to work as a nurse to be the breadwinner for the family, which was something new in our marriage and pretty hard on my ego. I borrowed $150 from my brother to rent a meeting room at the Best Western and run a small add in the paper. I borrowed some musicians from Bible Baptist Church to start a service on Tuesday nights and COWBOY COUNTRY CHURCH was born with 85 people showing up for the first service. Going on eight years later, Casey and I have not starved to death and COWBOY COUNTRY CHURCH is strong and thriving. Do you think that might be a “God Thing”?? Do you think obedience has anything to do with it?? I didn't understand what was happening at the the time, but I have since learned something about obedience. God shows us in His Word that there is a pattern to how he works and how He uses our obedience to accomplish HIS purposes. First, he speaks to His servant about what He is going to do and gives the servant instructions. Second, the servant must be obedient and THEN God will accomplish His purposes through HIS Power and unlimited resources; not the abilities and skills of the servant. When this happens, there is no doubt it was a “God Thing”!! This is the point in time that the servant and all those around him experience God's Glory and their RELATIONSHIP with God becomes very intimate!! Is obedience all that important in this pattern?? Well, Moses was obedient in raising his staff over the red sea, but it sure wasn't him who parted the waters and liberated the Hebrew people. I was obedient when I started COWBOY COUNTRY CHURCH, but it sure wasn't me who made it what it is today. My question for you today is: Are you listening and being obedient to what God is calling you to do?? How can God be Glorified and do a “God Thing” if you are not obedient?? Please release the Power of God in your life today by being obedient. You and all those around you need to see His Glory!!! ~Pastor Lynn

JUST FOR TODAY: TRUST is the pipeline through which God's PEACE flows directly to you!! THANKFULNESS is like a huge hydrolic jack pumping and lifting you above your circumstances. Instead of planning, scheming, evaluating, and worrying, why don't you try Trusting and Thanking the Lord continuously for a change? Jesus is ALWAYS right by your side, so as you walk with Him today, practice TRUSTING and THANKING Him all along the way. This simple shift in the way that you think will completely revolutionize your life. I am praying that God will give you a Peaceful and Uplifting day, ~Pastor Lynn (Philippians 4:4, Psalm 95:1-2, Psalm 9:10)

Comment by Don Adkisson on March 22, 2012 at 5:01am

There was a time when men thought of the solemnity of life. There was a time when men assumed honor, and dignity, and virtue. But even then there were those things that would try and steal the soul of man away. There was the lure of false love, the lure of false hope, and the lure of false riches.

Jesus warned about things that could destroy. He mentioned the person who does not let the Word take root in his life and then when the pressures and stresses of the world assail him he stumbles. He then mentions of the things that can choke out the Word, things that can destroy the soul. The Lord referred to them as "the worries of this age and the pleasure of wealth."

How many can you name that have fallen because they sought pleasure in the world? I know of an individual who gained tremendous wealth, but lost his family. Was the cost worth it? How many will buy a lottery ticket, then pray over it, hoping to win? Their soul is caught up in riches, thinking that the gaining of wealth will buy happiness. What will be said over their grave--he won the lottery but died poor.

Take a minute a look at the last verse of "The Hanging Tree." I have not idea whether Mack David or the performer, Marty Robbins thought about the depth of the last verse.

That's when I knew that the hangin' tree

Was a tree of life, new life for me,

A tree of hope, new hope for me,

A tree of love, new love for me,

The hangin' tree, the hangin' tree, the hangin' tree!

It was the "Hangin' Tree" that does give new life, new hope, and new love. It was on that tree that our Savior was hung. It was His death upon that "hangin' tree" that gives us new life for we can now be born again. It was His body that hung on that tree to give us new hope, the hope of life eternal. It was upon that "hangin' tree" that the love of God was shown to the world and that love was for me.

The world has no hope to give us. The riches will fade, fame will fade, popularity will fade; there is nothing left but "vanity" as the writer of Ecclesiastes puts it. Ah, but the Cross, the "hangin' tree" gives us the true picture of life, hope, and love.

JUST FOR TODAY: If your emotional opinions and your intellectual beliefs don't line up with the word of God, you are in deep trouble. You were bought with a very hight price by the Lord Jesus on the Cross of Calvary, and you have NO right to hang on to your old sinful nature. You do not belong to yourself any longer!!!When you make the moral decision to sign the death certificate on your old sin nature and start acting accordingly, that is the point in time that what Jesus accomplished ON the cross will be accomplished IN you. This is a Spiritual decision that you cannot escape if you want to have a Relationship with God. ~Pastor Lynn

JUST FOR TODAY: Trust God and do not be afraid, for He is your strength and your song. Just stop and think about what it means to have God as YOUR strength. HE spoke the universe into existence, and HIS power is absolutely unlimited!!! When you Trust God, your weakness draws His Power to you like a magnet, but Fear can block the flow of His strength to you. Don't fight with your fear: just focus on your Trust in Him. When you come to Jesus with confident Trust, there is NO limit to how much He can strengthen you. "JESUS, JESUS, JESUS....KEEPS ME SINGING AS I GO...." (Isiah 12:2-3, Psalm 21:6). Have a Powerful Day, ~Pastor Lynn

Daniel 2:21
"And he changeth the times and the seasons; he removeth kings, and setteth up kings; he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding,"

He set them up
He brings them down
When all seems lost
He declares it found

 He passes out knowledge
And gives wisdom to the wise
And nothing is hidden

JUST FOR TODAY: Jesus will show you the the way of Life; Satan will show you the way of death. In the presence of Jesus is the fullness of Joy; in the presence of Satan is the fulness of depression. At the right hand of Jesus are pleasures for evermore; at the right hand of Satan are burdens and punishment for evermore. Birds of a feather flock together; Whose flock are you standing in today?? And all seems to be lost
Remember how he bought us back
Remember what it cost

If he has brought us this far
He will not leave us behind
For when we stray from the fold
He leaves the ninety-nine

JUST FOR TODAY: Do NOT block your perception of God's blessing with negative thoughts. The good Lord WILL shower you with blessings this very day, but if all you have on your mind is negative thoughts, you will miss out on understanding and enjoying His blessings. The only way to clear the blockage of negative thinking is to be THANKFUL!! Do just like the old song says, "Count your blessings.......name them one by one...". Thankfulness will cause self-pity and depression to fly out of your life like a scalded vulture!!! Vultures prey on dead souls; they can't consume a soul that is brought to life through Thankfulness and Praise. So....BE THANKFUL AND GIVE HIM PRAISE FOR HIS GLORIOUS HOLY SPIRIT!!! Let the Living Waters Flow!!! (2 Corinthians 5:5, 2 Corinthians 3:17, and Psalm 50:14) ~Pastor Lynn

"Behold, I am the Lord the God of all flesh; is there any thing too hard for me?"

What is too hard for God
What is there that he cannot do
It's not above his ability

He flung the stars in space
He gave to us the seasons
And put everything in place

JUST FOR TODAY: The light of Jesus is shining upon you today. As this light shines on you, open your heart and let it shine within you. Never allow the light to dim because of worry or fear. When the light of Jesus dwells in you, you are fully equiped to live in Holiness. Do not speak or act today too quickly; always allow a little time for the His Spirit to guide and control your actions. It is the Lord's desire to inhabit ALL of your moments today, and He will fill your thoughts, words, and behavior with His amazing Grace (1 Corinthians 6:19). ~Pastor Lynn

Who searched the scriptures every day
And chek out the messengers
