JUST FOR TODAY: The Apostle Paul wrote, "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.." Do you think that you are self-sufficient? Are you foolish enough to think that when you stand before God on your own sufficiency that you will live to tell about it?? Eternal life is not dependant on independance; it is dependant on your OBEDIENCE to believe upon the name of Jesus Christ and the sprinkling of His precious BLOOD to cleanse you of all sin. There is NO substitute for OBEDIENCE and the BLOOD!! (2 Corithians 3:5, 1 Peter 1:2) ~Pastor Lynn
Zep 1:5 I will destroy anyone who goes up on the roof and worships the sun, the moon, and the stars. I will also destroy those who worship me and swear loyalty to me, but then take oaths in the name of the god Molech.
Zep 1:6 I will destroy those who have turned back and no longer follow me, those who do not come to me or ask me to guide them."
Joh 15:3 You have been made clean already by the teaching I have given you.
Joh 15:4 Remain united to me, and I will remain united to you. A branch cannot bear fruit by itself; it can do so only if it remains in the vine. In the same way you cannot bear fruit unless you remain in me.

JUST FOR TODAY: Do not hesitate to receive all the good things that God has for you today. Does it make sense to feel guility about being richly blessed because you think you don't deserve it?? Of course you don't "deserve" God's blessings, but none of us do. Just be thankful today that the Kingdom of God is not about earning and deserving; it is about believing and receiving!! Ask and you will recieve; knock and the door will open. Today is your time of Abundance. (Luke 11:9-10) ~Pastor Lynn
1Pe 1:6 . . . it may now be necessary for you to be sad for a while because of the many kinds of trials you suffer.
1Pe 1:7 Their purpose is to prove that your faith is genuine. Even gold, which can be destroyed, is tested by fire; and so your faith, which is much more precious than gold, must also be tested, so that it may endure. Then you will receive praise and glory and honor on the Day when Jesus Christ is revealed.
"He was a good man...a good man. Kept the coffee on...never had to wait in his house." (Louis L'Amour)
We need to quit draggin' our drawers and get on with the work of the King instead of moping around or muttering little jingles and frettin' 'bout the past election. My ol' pastor used to say that "life is living." The little time of mourning is past, now on with life. You can almost be sure not to like everything that happens, but I'll keep the coffee on. Our job is to be consistent in servin’ Him—keep the coffee on in other words.
Have cup of coffee, and hang in there pard. Read where there's on two emotions that should be expressed in the saddle: a sense of humor and patience. My, that's good advice for life. So as you head out to meet life this comin' week, don't forget first to quench your thirst, no, not here at my kitchen, but with the saints on Sunday. The week's a-comin', the Lord has work for you to do. As you travel next week's trail may you have a sticky saddle.
It might pay to check yur cinch.

Deu 33:27 God has always been your defense; his eternal arms are your support. He drove out your enemies as you advanced, and told you to destroy them all.

JUST FOR TODAY: How long must we continue to witness and preach the word of God? ....For as long as there are people who need to hear it!! Let's open our Spiritual eyes and look around at all the hurting, desperate, and lost souls in our communities and around the world. We must "Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace.." (Acts 18:9) God still has many people He wants us to reach and He will be with us and protect us as we continue to Love Him, Love each other, and tell everyone we can about the beautiful story of Jesus Christ. (Acts 18:9-10) ~Pastor Lynn
Isa 33:16 Then you will be safe; you will be as secure as if in a strong fortress. You will have food to eat and water to drink.

JUST FOR TODAY: May the good Lord bless you with the knowledge and confidence that together with Him, you can handle any circumstance or situation. We gain this knowledge and confidence through our personal relationship with Jesus, through studying the Bible and learning about all of His Precious Promises, and through our past experiences when He proved to us that He always help us get through the hard times. Our Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever. "For thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end". (Psalm 102:27) ~Pastor Lynn
"As a lady adjusts her dress before a mirror, a man adjusts his character by looking at his journal." --James Boswell
"The true mirror of our discourse is the course of our lives." --Michel de Montaigne
Stand before it; gaze into it. You do it every morning and probably several times throughout the day. "Mirror, mirror, on the wall...." How many times did you look in the mirror yesterday? I usually do it once, in the morning when I'm trying to shave the splinters off my face and wash the glaze from my eyes. No need to look again for only so much can be done to an ol' fence post.
I walk down the hall of the school and I glance in the lockers and notice that most of them have mirrors, including the guys. Often I wonder if the reason for that is that they have forgotten what they look like since the last hour. Is that vanity? Let's see, vanity means hopelessness. All is vanity, all is hopeless--hopeless, hopeless on the wall, hmmmmm.
Look in the mirror again. Does it show the soul or only the blemishes of the flesh due to time and the challenges of life? Imagine a mirror to the soul. What would it show if you looked into it? That was the idea that brought fear to Dorian Gray. He knew that sin not only brought blemish to the physical body, but also to the soul. He wanted to remain pristine, and yet sin with impunity. When he looked at his picture (his mirror) what was the visage he saw? The depths of his soul showed the depravity that had come to it and his lost his life and his soul in desperation.
What kind of person does the mirror show? The fairest of the land, or someone similar to Dorian Gray? Has the soul been washed white as snow or does it show it wrecked by sin? We are expected to look into the mirror of the soul; it will be by what we are judged for it is the Word of God.
However, do not be disheartened. Looking at God is like looking in a mirror. From across the room you look pretty good--the blemishes cannot be seen. Approaching the mirror, approaching God--oh, oh, blemishes, wrinkles, scars begin to show. The little things are now seen. The closer to God, the mirror, the more is seen, however, remember, you are also closer to Him. The closer you are to Him, the more He reveals about yourself.
Perhaps we should get closer to the mirror of God's Word. It just might improve our looks, even an ol' fence post.

"For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was." --James 1:23-24 (NASB)
fear thou not, for i am with thee--isiah 41-10- this is one of the most beautiful scriptures--i have ever read, knowing that he is with you--not just today--but alway's--he said"i will never leave thee, nor forsake thee". he sticks closer than a brother. some one that is inside you, is closer than any human--could ever be. god is great, and greatly to be praised--nell
Col 2:6 Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, live in union with him.
Col 2:7 Keep your roots deep in him, build your lives on him, and become stronger in your faith, as you were taught. And be filled with thanksgiving.
What politician, what person has an answer to the world's problems, to the problems of the United States? No one. The answer lies only as the people turn to God. One day there will come that person who will claim to have an answer; that person to whom the people will turn and even worship. Now the world is being prepared to accept his lies. Wonder we that there is such and attack on truth? The truth must be attacked in order to present the lie.
It was and still is important that we have the mind of God in our actions and decisions. By allowing the agenda of the Democratic party, the gay movement, and now even recreational sustance abuse to win in the elections I rather doubt that we are thinking with God's mind; I rather doubt we are actually thinking. Perhaps we should look at something in the Word of God and allow it to permeate our mind as this note comes to a close.
"They have installed kings, but not through Me. They have appointed leaders, but without My approval. They make their silver and gold into idols for themselves for their own destruction." (Hosea 8:4, HCSB)
Again I would admonish all who read--guard the truth!

Isa 49:15 So the LORD answers, "Can a woman forget her own baby and not love the child she bore? Even if a mother should forget her child, I will never forget you. . . I can never forget you! I have written your name on the palms of my hands.
Isa 49:17 "Those who will rebuild you are coming soon, and those who destroyed you will leave.
Every decision is a commitment to its consequences."

"The quality of our decisions determine the quality of our lives. Never under-estimate the power of good decisions."
--Dale A. O'Shields
"Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision." (Joel 3:14, NASB) The people of America will make a decision today. I am not saying that this election is equal to the great day of God's judgment, but all decisions such as this are fateful. Deep inside me there is something stirring, no fear, but more like dread. That if the decision is not pleasing to the Lord that something is going to be unleashed. This country has already taken steps away from God, will this election confirm that decision?
Abraham Lincoln once stated that this country could not long endure remaining half slave and half free. There was dread in the heart of this great man when he made this address. It took a cataclysm to change the situation of our country. If we continue moving more and more toward a pluralistic, globalistic society can we long remain sovereign? It has been years since I have heard or read a sermon concerning the judgment of nations. Why is this subject avoided? Don't dare to believe that if we slap God in the face by spurning and mocking His moral and natural laws that there will not be some kind of judgment. I have no idea what it will be, or what form it will take.
The greatest shame is that so many of His people are being duped as well. In the name of love and mercy we excuse sin. There are many who say that there is no right to judge people and their lifestyles. Where in the world does that thought come from? Easy, the world itself; another lie from the pit. Jesus even warned about the days, and that people would come to deceive the very elect.
Whatever the outcome the answer is still the same--fear God and keep His commandments. God is faithful, so must we be as well. The key to life, no matter who sits in the places of authority, no matter the situation that may confront you, is still the same--TRUST!
D. Adkisson
“If anyone tells you at that time, ‘Look, here is Christ’, or ‘Look, there he is’, don’t believe it! For false christs and false prophets will arise and will perform signs and wonders, to deceive, if it be possible, even the men of God’s choice. You must keep your eyes open! I am giving you this warning before it happens."
--Mark 13:21-23 (Phillips)
Isa 44:2 I am the LORD who created you; from the time you were born, I have helped you. Do not be afraid; you are my servant, my chosen people whom I love.
Isa 44:3 "I will give water to the thirsty land and make streams flow on the dry ground. I will pour out my spirit on your children and my blessing on your descendants.

JUST FOR TODAY: "Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thy self also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart." (Psalm 37:3-4) Just imagine what a great day you will have if you Trust God completely, do only what is good and pleasing in His sight, and simply delight yourself in the light of His Presence. What will happen?? ALL of your needs will be met, ALL those around you will be drawn to Jesus because they will want what you have, God will have a big smile on His face, and the Devil will hate that you woke up this morning!!
