The Use Of God's Gifts

It is my belief that God grants gifts to everyone, perhaps as a wood carver or as a communicator or

any number of talents that we may have a natural bent toward.
Now am not talking about gifts of the Spirit here but rather natural gifts which some folks nurture and
develop into hobbies or vocations.....or neglect andlet fall by the wayside.
I know in my years of counseling others that I have always stressed the importance of a persons

intrests and desires...to explore those things which are fullfilling.......To reach old age and just sit
without an active hobby or intrest in anything is a sade thing....we have all seen it.

God can use all of us in his service....no matter what our job or skill level...it not everyone who

can preach but all can deciple thru our everyday activity.

Perhaps you have a childhood intrest you have let pass by.....it is never too late.

Very true, very true.  I used to minister through my construction work.  People came to know that I was a preacher and would seek me out to find answers to questions they had.  God uses the gift of carpentry that I have to send me out and be available to whomever and where ever He needs me<):o}

You are a blessing Douglas....so many folks do not see what is right in front of them in the way of serving the Lord....we are all called to minister and all of us have our gifts...all are called to be deciples and we never know how effective we can be until we submit and allow the Holy Spirit to use us.
Yours is a prime example of what is before us every day......While many sit back and wait for the Peacher to do it all they are overlooking the ability within themselves......I also encourage everyone to work at developing their variouse skills and hobbies they had in their youth and not to discard them....it is sad to see someone in their old age just sit bored with nothing to do. Surely they were good at other interest at some point of their lives....I am soon 68 years old and still work as a western artist...singer/songwritter...preacher..I make jewelry..wood carve...fish...none with as much energy as I did ten years ago , but still with care and faith...I do not  ride as much as I used to or want to but I still enjoy my horses although I am down to three head from the over one hundred head I used to have....this time of year I miss the prospects of a crop of new foals on the ground.....some things just turn into nice memories.....Bro. I believe you are right! The richest place on planet earth is the cemetary. This is where all of the songs that were never written are. It is the place where all the books that were never written lie. It is the place where all the dreams that were never attempted are buried. I have spent a good many years trying to encourage people to find that one thing that they were born to do and do it with all of their heart. We are all created for a purpose. You will never be great doing something you hate. The bible says it is the gift of God that a man should enjoy the fruit of his labor. However most people do not. You can tell by the way they talk. They say things like, "Well it's Monday, it's back to the old grind." Our life's work was never entended to be a grind. We are genetically correct to fulfill our assignment. If anyone is reading this and find yourself not knowing what The Father created you to do, let me encourage you to get into the secret place alone with The Lord and ask Him to reveal His divine purpose for your life. You will be fulfilled beyond measure! God does not make mistakes! Find your place and take it to the highest level. Dare to recapture those dreams you have let slip away. The rewards are great! The Proof Of Passion Is In The Pursuit! You will never pursue anything that you have no passion for! What do you love to talk about? What do you love to read about? What would you attempt to do if money was not an object? What would you do if you were guaranteed you could not fail? The answer to these questions will help point you in the right direction!

Thank you Bro. Mike & Sandy.....That is why I started this discussion in the first place....The first twenty years of my fifty years in the music buisness I performed out of Nashville playing bars and supper clubs and would often run into some old fella in some place crying in his beer saying," Ya' know sonny, I could have been this or I could have done that", and I always vowed I was not going to end up with those regret's in my life.....and there was a time in my own life that I felt I could figure it all out for myself.." I did not want to bother God with my problems"...how stupid I was...God wants to be bothered by me...we limit ourselves when we put limits on God...when we come to the Father in Jesus name there is nothing we can't do thru him....thanks for your input Bro.
