Psa 4:8 When I lie down, I go to sleep in peace; you alone, O LORD, keep me perfectly safe.

Comment by Lynn D. Walker on October 25, 2013 at 7:02am

Will God forsake you or turn his back on you if you are one of His children but you are being disobedient or rebellious?  NO, He will not!!  Will God correct, chastise, or even "spank" one of His children that is being disobedient or rebellious?  YES, He most certainly will!!  The Bible says that He will chastise those whom He Loves.  When God's children were being disobedient in Isaiah chapter 9, verse 21 says, "For all of this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out STILL."  So, yes, even though God is angry at your disobedience, and yes, even though He WILL chastise you, He still Loves you and His hand will always be stretched out to you.  His greatest desire is for you to repent, ask for forgiveness, and return to unhindered fellowship with Him.  When you are disobedient to the point that God has to punish you, it hurts Him more than it does you.  ~Pastor Lynn

We are so "hot wired" in this electronic age of cell phones and computers!!  Please take time today to "turn it all off" for just a little while.  Remember that the Lord is your Shepherd, not Google.  Jesus is the one who will see that you lack nothing you need.  Jesus is the one who will give you rest in the green pastures of prosperity.  Jesus is the one who will give you peace beside the still waters of life.  Jesus is the one who will restore your soul and replace what the Evil One has taken from you.  Jesus is the one who will guide you down the good path of life, not your GPS!!  Slow down....unwind and talk to Jesus for a while today.  You won't need your cell phone and your call will never get "dropped".  (See Psalm 23) ~Pastor Lynn

Psa 4:6 There are many who pray: "Give us more blessings, O LORD. Look on us with kindness!" Psa 4:7 But the joy that you have given me is more than they will ever have with all their grain and wine.

"A man should stop ever' now and again and ask himself what he was doing, where he was going, and how he planned to get there.  And the hardest thing to learn is that there aren't any shortcuts."          --Louis L'Amour

"God's plan.  Man sees only what lies behind him.  God sees what lies ahead."    --Elmer Kelton

Man or beast once in a while needs a rest.  The travel can get wearisome depending on the weather, the terrain, and the length of time since the last rest.  If you are climbing higher, and hopefully you are, the altitude can wear you out very quickly.

On the old stage routes there were stations to change horses and rest, and then there were other stations where sometime the travelers could even stay the night.  Most of the talk, sitting around the table drinking coffee, was the travel of the day, possibly the obstacles they faced, wearisome day, possibly the obstacles they faced, and how tired they were.  It was a practice in the Old West not to speak too much of one's past; that's why they were often traveling West, to escape the past.

They turned their sight to the future; what might be out there waiting for them.  Many wanted to new start in life and they lived on hope in the future.  Any time the Scripture speaks of the past it is usually to remind us of what God has already done so we can trust in Him even more.  It may tell us the look at the past to glean valuable knowledge and to learn from the lessons that were taught.  And there are those places where God said put up a memorial so the future generations can look back.

One thing they would think about was the journey tomorrow.  It was a hard day today, and tomorrow promises more of the same.  Fact:  it really doesn't get any easier.  Oh, the terrain may change some, and the faces may change but the trail continues to go through this evil world.  Gene Autry wrote a humorous, yet truthful song:  "There' no back door to heaven, you must come in at the pearly gates."  There are no shortcuts along the trail; it must be followed until the end.  There is no way to sneak into heaven the entry is only by the cross--Jesus crucified and resurrected.

So take a little respite tonight.  The day is over, obstacles crossed, but realize there will be a new day tomorrow with a new obstacle.  Take hope, however, in the future for one day the trail will end, the journey will be over.

Psa 4:1 To the Director: With stringed instruments. A Davidic Psalm. When I call, answer me, my righteous God! When I was in distress, you set me free. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.

ALL of our love to the family of Rocky Morris. His wife and daughter need our prayers, love and  support right now. There are some extra expenses right now that won't wait. Father in heaven, I pray for your full measure of Grace, Peace and Provision right now on this family in Jesus' name!

Comment by Lynn D. Walker on October 22, 2013 at 7:33am

Many prayers going up all over the country for the family of Rocky Morris.  He was a tremendous man of God with a great heart, great talent, and great vision.  I only met Rocky in person one time at our Oklahoma Gathering in May of this year.  He was the kind of man that after only after a few minutes, you felt like you had known him all of your life.  He will be greatly missed by family, friends, musicians, churches, fans, and everyone at ICCAN.  One thing I know for SURE, Rocky would NOT want us to lay down and give up on the vision that he had for ICCAN, and we will not.  I just wish I could have spent more time with him for he was a truly inspirational man.  ~Pastor Lynn

"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." ~2 Corinthians 5:17 Our Lord will not tolerate our old way of life and our old prejudices; He is deliberately removing them from us and replacing them with the fruits of His Spirit.  God pays no respect to anything that you bring to him from your old way of life.  There is only one thing God wants you to bring to him and that is your unconditional surrender to Him.  Come to him in this manner and put your Trust in Jesus.  Once you truly see God at work in your life, you will never be concerned again about the things that happen or the things of this world.  Be in Christ all day, New Creature!!   ~Pastor Lynn

Is it God's will that you be Sanctified, that you be set aside from the things of this world to be used by Him??  Of course it is!! (See 1 Thessalonians 4:3)  The real question is are YOU willing to be sanctified??  Are you ready to start this week off willing to do everything that has been made possible through the atonement of the Cross of Christ??  Before you commit and say yes, be sure you understand the effects of sanctification on your life.  If you are truly sanctified today you will be obedient to His Word, you will be of service and witness to His Love, and you will PRAY!!  All because you have chosen to express your Thankfulness and Love for all that Jesus did for you on the Cross.  Be Sanctified and be blessed, ~Pastor Lynn

"For the son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. Luke 9:56"   Jesus did not come to harm you or to punish you; he did not come to take away your fun and enjoyment of life.  On the contrary, Jesus came to "Save" you from sin and death, and give you freedom to live the most joyous, prosperous, and abundant life you will ever experience.  Believe in Jesus today and your life will never be the same, and it will never be any better!!  ~Pastor Lynn

"Saddle up your horses; Get ready to ride...."  (Steven Curtis Chapman)

I can still remember it.  It was early one morning, the sky was still dark in the east with only twinges of orange beginning to show when I heard the sound.  At first I thought it was the "Ghost Riders" clamoring through the sky for the sound came from the heavens.  The sun was still below the horizon with its bright hues now lighting the eastern sky, and I looked.  I knew the rising of the sun does not make that clatter.  It was, I tell you, the clattering of hooves; I thought that perhaps the Son had mounted.
Maybe it was just the hoof beat of a white stallion anxiously awaiting the day he will run through the heavens.  Maybe it was just his stomping in the golden corral ready for action.  He is, however, saddled and ready to go upon command of his Rider.  Others are there, ready to be mounted on the given order, the armies of heaven.  When will the Son give the command to mount up?
The white stallion runs to and from, anxious, chewing at the bit.  The other horses around him begin to snort and shake their manes feeling that the moment is near.  Can you just imagine how anxious heaven is?  But not now; not just yet, but don't unsaddle.  The cinches have been checked and they are tight, all that is needed is the word from the Father for His Son to ride.
However, the Rider of the White Horse has sent out a message to His followers on earth.  He questions:  how many are willing to ride with Him?  They should already be in the saddle, riding through the land proclaiming the news that the Lord is at hand.  One day they will also join that magnificent army mounted in heaven.
His orders are to ride through the stillness of the morning and awaken the inhabitants of the land.  Tell them, warn them that the Rider of the White Horse is ready to mount.  Waken them out of their lethargy; waken them out of their slumber.  Ride through the heat of the noonday and then into the cool, stillness of the evening.  Warn them not to let the sun go down without realizing that the Rider is ready to mount.
               D. Adkisson

"Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there.  And the one sitting on the horse was named Faithful and True....  His eyes were bright like flames of fire....  The armies of heaven, dressed in pure white linen, followed him on white horses."
               --Revelation 19:11,12,14 (NLT)

If your mind is constantly filled with YOUR plans and YOUR thoughts, how can you hear the voice of the HOLY SPIRIT??  Jesus died for you to set you FREE and you are free indeed!!  This includes freedom from fear, worry, excessive planning and leaning on your own understanding.  These things are a type of idolatry that you need to turn away from and start listening to the Holy Spirit.  YOU ARE FREE to listen to His voice and follow Him to enjoy living the abundant life you were designed to have in the first place. ~Pastor Lynn

There has been a lot of sickness going around; Casey has been overwhelmed at the clinic lately.  Some have had deaths in their families and many people are scared to death about what is going to happen with our crazy government and the economy!!  But I want to comfort and encourage you this morning that God is STILL on the throne and He is STILL in control!!  I have a scripture for you this morning that has always lifted me up and I believe it will do the same for you if you will give God a chance to bless you.  Psalm 34:4-6 ~"I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.  Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.  This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; He saved him out of all his troubles."  This poor man loves all of you and hopes that you have a radiant, blessed day, ~Pastor Lynn

Colossians 1:29 ~ "Whereunto I also labour, striving according to HIS (Jesus') working, which worketh in me mightily." Paul is talking here about POWER!!  Paul is well aware that the mighty works he is accomplishing is powered by the Holy Spirit in him and is by no means his own strength.  Moses said, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?" (Exodus 3:11).  God knew very well who Moses and Paul were and He sure knows who you and I are as well.  It is not the power of the one sent that accomplished great works, but the POWER of the sender!!  POWER is not an accessory of the Holy Spirit; POWER is not the whistle on the train; it's the whole train!!!  And it is not something that some believers receive and some don't!!!  So why are you standing around waiting on God to do something great in your life??  He's already done it!!!  So, GO!!!  God is waiting on YOU to do great works through HIS POWER!!  Paul and Moses did not fail and neither will YOU!!!  ~Pastor Lynn

God want us to "put away" our "doings" of evil things.  He does not want to watch such things in our life and His Word says to "cease" such action before His eyes; and His eyes see EVERYTHING!!  Instead of doing evil, God says to "learn" to do well.  "Learn"??  To do well does not come natural to the sinful nature of man so we must learn these things from His Word, His Spirit, and fellowship with Godly people.  Ask the Holy Spirit today to teach you the things you need to "learn" more about.  Start with asking Him about Love, giving, and forgiving.  If you are willing and obedient, the priceless blessings of God will be yours.  But if you refuse and rebel.....well, things in life will not go well for you.  God has spoken.  ~Pastor Lynn  (See Isaiah 1:16-20)

"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone: my hope comes from Him.  He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.  My salvation and my honor depend on god; He is my mighty rock, my refuge.  Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge." ~Psalm 62:5-8

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17  In a world where there is so much deceit and lying, where we live in doubt because of constant change and nothing is every really solid, isn't it a great comfort to know that the God we worship and serve is NOT like the "shifting shadows" of this world.  God is the only thing that is solid and unchanging in our life and He blesses us with abundant life and all good gifts.  Enjoy but do not cling to all the gifts that you receive. Instead, cling to the Giver of those gifts and Worship Him who has called you out of darkness into His glorious light!!  ~Pastor Lynn

Is there someone in your past that you once "loved", but now you don't?   Have you let circumstances and emotions control what you  believe and how you live instead of standing fast on what the Word of God says??  We have all been guilty of these things because we are human, and we have a tendency to think Jesus operates in the same fashion; He does not.  Being as we are it is almost impossible for us to understand, but Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!!  Jesus Loves you with an everlasting Love today and He ALWAYS will.  Trust and believe in the unfailing Love of Jesus and by HIS strength, He will lead and guide you through this life and on into eternity to live with Him for ever.  ~Pastor Lynn  (See Hebrews 13:8)

I hope you are grafting the Word of God in your hearts.
I hope you will always choose the right thing to do.
Remember what happens to those who live ungodly lives.
And don't you ever let that happen to YOU!!!
We are all chasing after something in this life, and we need to be very careful what we are trailing after; and even more careful of what we find.  Old Satan, the liar and deceiver, will gladly lead you into waters that look still and peaceful, but the underlying currents are deep and turbulent. Many get led in but then can't swim back out.  Make sure you are on the trail of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Goodness, Gentleness, Faith, humbleness, and self-control.  Track down these "fruits of the Spirit" and don't be sniffing around things that can drown your Spirit, your Heart, your Soul, and your Mind. ~Pastor Lynn  (See Galatians 5:22-23)
