We Christians like to talk about THE cross a lot.  That's good but we often forget there were two other crosses on that day as well.  They are not insignificant as the following poem reveals:
Three crosses on a lonely hill,
a thief on either side,
and, in between, the Son of God
How wide the gulf....how wide.
yet one thief spanned it with the words
"oh, Lord, remember me!!"
The other scoffed and turned aside
To lost eternity.
Forsaken is the hilltop now,
And all the crosses gone,
But in believing hearts of men
the center cross lives on.
And still, as when these sentinels
First met earth's wondering view
the presence of the Lord divides....
upon which side are YOU???  ~ Unknown

A couple of weeks ago, Kenneth Copeland did a Faith message about Eccles. 4:12  "Though one may be overpowered, Two can defend themselves.  A cord (rope) of three strands is not quickly broken." It instantly hit me to teach the boys (since we have no girls) at the small church I volunteer at, to learn how to braid a rope.  The lesson?  Did you know that the "religions" like Hinduism, Buddism, Islam, even Judaism only rely on one or two "beings?"  But Christianity believes in THREE- Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit!  Three make our faith strong!  Just like the ropes I had the boys make in church last Sunday.  Even most of the adults were thrilled with the illustration.  (All but one mom who claimed her son would probably tie her up once he finished his rope... |-( I thought: WATCH your words, ma'am!! (chuckle))

"Choose you this day whom ye will serve." ~Joshua 24:15

There was a time when I begged God to take my will completely out of the equation and just GIVE me HIS will.  He did not do that for me and He will not do it for you either.  You can't get rid of your will but you can exercise it; you can make it line up with God's will and serve Him or you can leave God out of it and serve yourself; which actually means you will be serving Satan.  YOU have a choice as to whom you will serve today.  I hope that you will choose wisely.  ~Pastor Lynn

I learned a new word today; well, it's new to me anyway.  The word is "abeyance".  Abeyance is a legal term that means there is a condition of undetermined ownership.  Abeyance is usually considered a temporary condition until ownership can be determined by a court of law.  I'm sure glad that I am not an attorney; I'm even more glad that a court of law is not who determines to whom I belong.  I made that choice all by myself.  I chose to serve God and believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, for my eternal Salvation.  There is no condition of undetermined ownership for me!! You legal types can keep "abeyance" for your own personal vocabulary; I have no use for it.   How about you??  To whom will you belong and choose to serve this day??  (Joshua 24:15)  ~Pastor Lynn

Time has a way of changing folks; sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.  The only other thing that truly changes folks is the Good Lord.  Nice thing about when God changes you is that it is ALWAYS for the better.  If you will allow Jesus to come into your heart, God will go to work in you through His Holy Spirit to change YOUR will into HIS will; only God can change selfish human beings from doing what pleases themselves into "Christ like" creatures that are driven to please the God that Loves them.  ~Pastor Lynn

Isa 55:13 Cypress trees will grow where now there are briers; myrtle trees will come up in place of thorns. This will be a sign that will last forever, a reminder of what I, the LORD, have done."

Isa 55:10 "My word is like the snow and the rain that come down from the sky to water the earth. They make the crops grow and provide seed for planting and food to eat.
Isa 55:11 So also will be the word that I speak--- it will not fail to do what I plan for it; it will do everything I send it to do.

HOW FAITH COMES:  Speaking on the reality of faith, D. L. Moody said, "Faith is the gift of God.  So is the air, but you have to breathe it.  So is bread, but you have to eat it.  so is water, but you have to drink it.  Some people are looking for a miraculous kind of feeling.  That is NOT Faith."  "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" ~Romans 10:17.  We can't sit around and wa...it for Faith to come stealing over us like some strange sensation, but take God at His Word.  You cannot have Faith unless you have something to have Faith in!!  You will find that in the Bible.  So take the Bible as it is written, study it, and apply it to your life.  Glorious Faith will come as promised!!  ~Pastor Lynn

GOD SAVE US FROM LIVING IN COMFORT WHILE SINNERS ARE SINKING INTO HELL!!  Brethren, do something.  Do something, DO SOMETHING!!  While committees waste time over resolutions, do something.  While societies and unions are making constitutions let us win souls.  Too often we discuss, and discuss, and discuss while Satan laughs in his sleeve.  it is time we had done planning and sought something to plan.  I pray you, be men of action all of you.  Get to work and quit yourselves like men.  Our aim is to save sinners, and this we are not merely to talk about, but to carry out in the power of the Lord.  ~C. H. Spurgeon

JUST FOR TODAY: How am I going to make it through another day??  How am I going to make it through the week-end.  How can I go on "through the country, through the city, through all the nooks and crannies of life, the traps and temptations, and all the torrential storms of life"??  The answer lies in ISAIAH 41:13, "For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee."  There is room for YOUR hand, too!!  Place it there in Loving Obedience and with Him you can go on "until the day dawn and shadows flee away." ~Pastor Lynn

5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. 7 And he laid it (a live, burning coal) upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. ~ISAIAH 6:5,7
JUST FOR TODAY: Why did Isaiah become "undone"?  Why did he fall apart?  Because that's what happens to a person when they get into the presence of God and realize how Holy He really is and how much you are not.  His Spirit will point out your sin.  And He will be very specific about it.  When in the presence of God you can't get away with saying, "yes, I am a sinner".   You will have to confess a specific sin in the presence of God like Isaiah did in the case of his "unclean lips".  Then what happens??  The burning coal represents the fire of the Holy Spirit being applied to your specific sin and your sin is taken away; gotten rid of.  Next time you pray, ask God what specific sin he wants to deal with in your life.  You will be amazed at what will happen!!  ~Pastor Lynn

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." ~2 Chronicles 7:14
JUST FOR TODAY: I Love my country.  Always have and always will.  I am very thankful to live in Oklahoma, and the USA!!  But if we stop calling ourselves a Christian nation, if we become arrogant and stop seeking the face of God in prayer, If we don't turn from our wicked ways, How can God hear us from Heaven, forgive our sins, or heal our land.  It's high time that ALL the Christians of this great nation raise up their heads and proclaim, "YES!!  we ARE a Christian nation!!"   It's time to stop complaining and start humbly seeking God's face in PRAYER!!  It's time to do a 180 degree turn from our wicked ways.  Would you agree with me that we need the forgiveness and healing promised to us by God Almighty for our country??  ~Pastor Lynn

COWBOY LOGIC: They say age is all in your mind.... my problem is that it's creeping down my neck into the rest of my body!!

My wife, Casey, worries about all the things that I forget; in turn, I worry about all the things that she remembers!!

Light travels faster than sound.  This is why some folks appear bright until you hear them speak!!

Don't let you yearnings get ahead of your earnings!!

And most of all, if it ain't right....don't do it!!

HOLY LIVING AND PRAYER:  Men would pray better if they lived better.  they would get more from God if they lived more obediently and well pleasing to God.  We would have more strength and time for the divine work of intercession if we did not have to expend so much strength and time settling up old scores and paying delinquent taxes.  Our spiritual liabilities are so greatly in excess of our spiritual assets that our (prayer) closet time is spent in taking out a decree of bankruptcy instead of being the time of great spiritual wealth for us and for others.  Our (prayer) closets are too much like the sign, "Closed for repairs".  ~E.M. Bounds

MORNING PRAYER: Thank you Father for being my God!!  By your Grace, empower me to live this day completely surrendered to your will.  You own my life and I am thankful for that because I know you have great plans for me!!  Fill me with your Holy Spirit and use me for your Glory so that I may be worthy of your calling on my life!!  Give me passion for you and compassion for others.  Let my life and my work be pleasing to your eyes and ears.  In Jesus' name, AMEN.

"I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."  ~Ephesians 4:1-3

JUST FOR TODAY: In Ephesians 4:1-3, Paul begs us to live our lives worthy of the calling that God has given us.  That calling is to have a loving relationship with Him and allow the Truth and Love of His Son, Jesus Christ, to shine for all to see.  This cannot be done with arrogance, roughness, or without patience.  We must overlook one another's faults in Love with humbleness, gentleness, and patience.  It takes a lot of work to keep us all bound together in peace and a oneness of Spirit.  I fear that sometimes we just plain don't want to work that hard and that is a sure sign that we have lost our focus on the Lord.  ~Pastor Lynn

As Christians, we talk a lot about THE cross, but we sometime ignore or forget about the other two.  They were there for a purpose as this poem exposes.  Think about it and then tell your lost friends and loved ones about Jesus!!

"Now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.  For He himself is our Peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation"  ~Ephesians 2:13-14.  PRAISE GOD!!!  NO MORE SEPARATION FROM HIM!!!

JUST FOR TODAY: Peace is much more than just enjoying a calm day after a rough night.  That is the Peace OF God, and I'm not saying these moments are not important; they are very important.  But Peace WITH God is even more important.  We were born distant from God because of our sin.  Our sin put us so far from God that we were called His enemies!!  Sin stained all of us and made it impossible for us to reconcile ourselves and make Peace with God.  But then along came Jesus!!  He changed our predicament with His salvation by Grace through Faith.  Let's all be thankful today that Jesus transformed us from "enemies" of God into His children.  Now that's Peace!!!  ~Pastor Lynn

MORNING PRAYER: In the name of Jesus, I thank you this morning for being my Peace.  Help me Lord to stay grateful for the Peace that I have in you through what you did for me on the Cross.  Let me be full of Love, Compassion, and Courage today to share this Peace with everyone that you put into my life today; be it loved ones or enemies.  Please help me to live my life today so that you are not embarrassed to call me your child.  Stay close to me today Lord; I can't do this without you.  AMEN.
