Thy Will Be Done

THY WILL BE DONE

GOD ALMIGHTY spoke the World into existence and gave Mankind dominion over it. GOD has always said what the consequences are for not following His will. GOD is on the throne and will never be overthrown.

[Gen 1:27-28 KJV] 27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

[Psa 115:16 KJV] 16 The heaven, [even] the heavens, [are] the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

In the beginning GOD gave Mankind complete dominion over the Earth that HE had created. From the very beginning GOD gave men the ability to choose obedience. GOD`S will for Adam and Eve was for them to be obedient to HIM. GOD gave Mankind His expressed will for them to follow. GOD has always told men what the consequences were for not following HIS will. We find the first example of this in the book of beginnings.

[Gen 2:17 KJV] 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Through Man`s disobedience sin entered the world. They did exactly what ALMIGHTY GOD told them not to do. It is because of the disobedience of Man that the Earth is in such turmoil.

[Gen 3:17 KJV] 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed [is] the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat [of] it all the days of thy life;

It was not GOD`S will for Adam and Eve to break His expressed Will and Command in the beginning. Disobedience to GOD in any form is never GOD`S will. GOD has set the Laws of this Earth and HE does not change. The Ten Commandments that GOD gave to Moses are constantly being broken, this is not the Will of GOD. GOD is not in control of people who break His Laws, Satan is. GOD is however in complete control of the consequences. GOD does not allow people to get by with sin. They must either repent and accept JESUS`S sacrifice for their sins or pay for them in Hell.

We will look at some popular incomplete statements often made by well-meaning Christians. These statements are often misunderstood. Let`s take a close look at these statements in the light of Scripture. GOD has corrected a lot of my beliefs over the years that were based upon traditions of men instead of The Bible. It is not my intention to make anyone feel foolish. We must all be willing to change what we believe if the Bible proves it wrong. These incomplete statements often give people wrong ideas.

Here are the statements-“GOD is in control, everything happens for a reason, and all things work together for good.”

Sometimes when people hear these incomplete statements they end up blaming GOD for all kinds of bad things. Many times bad things happen to seemingly good people. We may never completely understand why a tragedy strikes a family. The thing we must not do is blame GOD for the tragedy, or accuse the hurting family of a fault. Sometimes the tragedy is not anyone`s fault, it`s just because of the sin cursed world we live in.

I personally knew a Deacon who told a youth that his relative was killed in an accident because of “the will of GOD”. The youth said to the Deacon “if that was GOD`S will I don’t want anything to do with Him”. The last I heard that young man has never been back to Church. If we have made mistakes like this we must, if possible try to correct them. We must realize that GOD is NOT the killer, or the thief, or the destroyer, the Devil is. All tragic things can be linked back to the original Sin of Adam and Eve. The things that entered the Earth because of the fall of Man was NOT and is NOT GOD`S WILL or His fault! GOD has told us in His Word that HE has given men the right to choose Life and Death, Blessing and Cursing. It is not GOD`S will for men to make wrong choices. Whether it is breaking the written Law of GOD or pulling the wrong lever at the voting booth men will answer for their wrong choices.

[Deu 11:26-27 KJV] 26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; 27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: [Deu 30:19 KJV] 19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

We need to pray that the Church would be strong if Faith and do GOD`S will. If GOD`S will is automatic why pray for it? [Mat 6:9-10 KJV] 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. We need to pray that GOD`S will be done, then we need to be bold enough to do it in our lives personally. [Mat 7:21 KJV] 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

[2Pe 3:9 KJV] 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. If GOD was going to force His will on Men He would force them to come to repentance and not perish. Notice in these next verses GOD spoke to the man that would listen and warned him. GOD did not keep the other men from choosing the evil they had planned. [Act 9:23-24 KJV] 23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: 24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. [Act 21:4 KJV] 4 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem. When we look at this next verse we must understand that it only applies to those who qualify. [Rom 8:28 KJV] 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. [Rom 12:1-2 KJV] 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

According to scripture without a doubt it is not GOD`S will for the Earth to be in such turmoil. GOD in this dispensation of time is allowing men to make choices. There is coming a time when the longsuffering of GOD will be over. Some men will continue to ignore or rebel and sin their day of Grace away. This is not GOD`S will for them. Blessed are those who gladly choose Him now.

[Rev 19:15 KJV] 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he SHALL RULE them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
