Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Father in Heaven, grant for us, your children, through Jesus Christ, to open the eyes of our understanding, that we might see those things that are ours and are in your will to reveal at this time.
The natural morning star is what we now know as the planet Venus. Jesus is referenced in the Bible as; "the Bright and Morning Star" in spiritual terms. Therefore, we should look at the natural characteristics of Venus to see any possible metaphoric or spiritual parallels. We do this in keeping with previous revelations of other spiritual mysteries hidden by God in types and shadows, parables and metaphors.
One of the characteristics of the star, Venus:
Venus reaches its maximum brightness shortly before sunrise or shortly after sunset.
For this reason it is often called the Morning Star. Therefore, as "the bright and morning star" it is the brightest star in the darkness of the heavens just before the dawning of the early morning sun. There are other physical and astrological characteristics that may be applicable but for now, let's consider the one listed above. (Continue reading)
