Singing in Collins, Ms 1/31/14
Oh man, what a time we had last night. There were about a hundred people showed up. I think there were 8 white folks there. We sing what would be called "hard country gospel". So I had no idea how the folks would react to our music. Well, they LOVED IT. I was amazed at how they really got into it. A couple of them said they want us to come to their church and sing. We told them we'd be back up there March 1st to sing at the Collins Full Gospel Church, and they said they were going to bring the whole family to come and see us. We were so blessed.
On a side note, the "low tire" light came on in Benny's Van just as we got into Mississippi. We got out and looked, and every thing was fine. So we pressed on. When we got within about 5 miles of our destination, a pickup truck pulled up side us and told us we had a low tire. So we pulled off again, and the left rear was about half flat. We had gone about 75 miles since the light come on. So we decided to go on into Collins and see what we could find to remedy our situation. Well, bless the LORD, as soon as we rolled into town, there was a Chevron Station with a side business of tires. They were open. The old boy pulled that tire off, repaired, and had it back on in no time. We were not late to our destination. HALLELUYAH. We were so thankful that the LORD kept us and provided for us. Whoohooo.
Next Friday night, 2/7/14, we'll be in East Texas. What a time!
