JUST FOR TODAY: Who has control of your reins and your heart??

JUST FOR TODAY:  "Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart." Psalm 26:2   What a bold invitation to make to God Almighty!  King David is asking God to "prove" him; this means he is asking God to "test" his relationship with Him.  He invites God to "try his reins" (reins are the mechanism that steer and guid a horse).  David is saying to God, "I will follow you anywhere and respond to your guidance and commands."  He invites God to "try my heart"; he is saying to God, "look at my heart, my whole being, and see if it ALL doesn't belong to you , Lord."  Would your Relationship with God stand up to the test if He were to "examine" you today?  If God tried your reins, would you respond quickly to His guidance and go anywhere and do anything He wanted you to do??  If God were to "try your heart", would He find that it belonged to Him completely?  How you answer will tell you if you are a play-like Christian or a real Follower.  ~Pastor Lynn
