Spreading the love of Jesus...the Cowboy Way!

 by Lahry Sibley

"A man profits from the Word when he discovers how entirely and how sinfully he has failed to meet God’s demands. No man can see what a sinner he is, how infinitely short he has fallen of measuring up to God’s standards, until he has a clear sight of the exalted demands of God upon him! Just in proportion as preachers lower God’s standard of what He requires from every human being, to that extent will their hearers obtain an inadequate and faulty conception of their sinfulness, and so the less will they perceive their need of an almighty Saviour!"

Is this not the devils plan? Is this plan not succeeding today? Of course it is. But once a soul really perceives what are God’s demands upon him, and how completely and constantly he has failed to render Him His due, then does he recognize what a desperate situation he is in. The Law must be preached before any are ready for the Gospel."

The MESSIAH not only rendered a perfect obedience unto the Law for the justification of HIS believing people, but HE also merited for us those supplies of HIS SPIRIT which is essential unto our sanctification, and which alone transforms carnal creatures and enable us to render acceptable obedience unto HAYAH (I AM). Though our SAVIOR died for the “ungodly”, though HE finds us ungodly when HE justifies us, yet HE leaves us not in that abominable state.

On the contrary, HE effectually teaches us by HIS SPIRIT to deny ungodliness and worldly lust. Just as weight cannot be separated from a stone, or heat from fire, so cannot justification be made separate from sanctification. When HAYAH (I AM) really pardons a sinner in the court of HIS conscience, under the sense of that amazing grace the heart is purified, the life is rectified, and the whole man is sanctified. The MESSIAH “gave HIMself for us, that HE might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto HIMself a peculiar people, [not “careless about” but] zealous of good works” (Tit 2:19).

Just as a substance and its properties, causes and their necessary effects are inseparably connected, so are a saving faith and conscientious obedience unto YEHOVAH. Hence we read of “the obedience of faith”.

Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, Rom 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

"Faith", without obedience, is like a ship without a compass. It just drifts about, terribly off course. Selah.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Nowhere, in the entirety of the Bible does YEHOVAH ascibe loving ownership to a person or people, except they are obedient to HIS commandments. "Love" acts upon the object of that love. If you "love" as YEHOVAH loves (agape), then it must have a benevolent attachment of action toward the one who is loved. HOW DARE preachers stand in a pulpits around the world, and preach indifference to the demands the LORD places upon the objects of HIS love. BLASPHEMY!!!! Love that is not expressed, is only a word.

Our love, that we like to boast of, that is aimed toward the FATHER and the SON, is always evidenced in OBEDIENCE to HIS commandments. No exceptions. Here it is.....

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

What expression of TRUE LOVE, obedience is. How few, who call themselves "christians", have a clue of the meaning and value of this relationship with HAYAH and HIS SON. Has HE manifested HIMself to you? Are you as deep in your claim of love for HIM as you "say" you are? Do you know HIS will for you, AND DO IT?

1Jn 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

Mat_7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Mat_7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Luk 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luk 6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: Luk 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

From the Garden to Revelation 22, relationship with HIM, is founded upon and lived out in OBEDIENCE. The faith that SAVES, is the faith that OBEYS. Please DON'T TELL ME YOU CAN'T. Reality is, YOU WON'T. The HOLY SPIRIT empowers any and all who come with a humble and contrite heart, nothing held back. All others? They are on the wide road, and we all know where that road ends....... selah.
