Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our sins from us.
Psa 103:13 As a father is kind to his children, so the LORD is kind to those who honor him.

LIFE IS A TEST!! Now every time I go to that fast food place,
I always get a raw deal!!
I always get the new girl, you know....
the one that can't even make change for a happy meal!!
Now, I used to get all bent out of shape
And sometimes I'd even raise me a fuss!!
But I finally figured out
that don't help me very much...
So now I just stand there patiently,
I don't ever lose my cool.
Cause that poor girl is doin' the best she can
And I just need to remember the Golden Rule.....
because it's a Test!!!
Life is a Test!!  You better do your best!!
Don't you gossip and lie, don't you lose your cool.
Don't forget all them things you learned in Sunday School.....
Cause it's a Test.....Life is a Test!!!

LIFE IS A TEST.......even on the job??  Oh, yes!!  Let me tell what happened to me one time!!

Well, the Boss Man put me on a job
I didn't care for very much...
So I thought, “You old sorry rascal,
I'm gonna tell everybody your just an old such and such!!
What makes you think you can treat me mean,
just cause I'm the new guy around this place??”
Why, the squeaky wheel get's the grease!!
And I may just get up in that old boy's face!!
Oh, but that wouldn't be very Christian like,
and that backbiting is such a disgrace....
Maybe I better get on back to work,
and sing  me a little bit of that there “Amazing Grace”....
Cause it's a Test!!!

LIFE IS A TEST..... even in church??  You bet!!  Let me tell what happened to me one time.......
Now I worked real hard for all of my money,
And sometimes there was a few things I wanted to buy!!
But every time I went to church,
They expected me to pay my tithes!!

Good Lord!!  What did they do with all that money??
I didn't even know where it all goes!!
Besides...I needed a new bass boat,
And some of them fancy lures to throw.

Oh, but the Lord has been real good to me;
I've got a good roof over my head....
You can tell by lookin', I ain't missed too many meals.
Maybe I better just go ahead and do what "the Good Book" said. Cause it's a Test!!

Don't be looking for God to dump prosperity and success in your lap today.  Prosperity and success come only when YOU "make" it happen by following the three principles set forth by God!!  #1.  BE STRONG...nothing else but strong; the good life is not for weaklings!!  #2. BE VERY COURAGEOUS....be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed or discouraged.  Why?  Because the Lord, YOUR God is with you wherever you go!!  #3. YOU MUST KNOW AND DO THE WORD OF GOD....observe (look and see) and DO according to "ALL" that is written therein!! (Maybe see you at Bible Study Wednesday night??)  Now you know what it takes and what to do; "therefore arise", get up and get after it!!!  Man, it's going to be a great day!!!  GIVE HIM PRAISE!!!!  ~Pastor Lynn

Joshua 1:8-9 ~"This book of the law (the Word of God) shall not depart out of thy mouth (don't just talk bout it, DO IT); but thou shalt meditate therein day and night (think about it and study it), that thou mayest observe to DO according to all (notice it says "ALL" not "some") that is written therein: for THEN (and not until) thou shalt make (YOU shall "MAKE") thy way prosperous, and THEN thou shalt have good success.  Have not I commanded thee? (see verse 6 and 7) Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed (discouraged): for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." God is NOT a liar; never has been, never will be.  He will deliver on every promise that He has ever made to mankind.  So why do folks complain when they refuse to meet the conditions that He set forth in order to receive those promises?  God Loves Relationships and He wants to have one with you, but He will still be God forever, He will still exist even if you chose to ignore Him.  Now for you the question becomes, what will happen to you if you don't believe in Him?? ~Pastor Lynn

"I choose not to quit, not to let bad luck beat me."  (Ty Murray)

Too many times in life we simply just make excuses.  It was the situation, it was the environment, I'm only human, the devil made me do it.  Stop it!  Remember the words of the old hymn, "I was once a sinner, but I came, pardon to receive from my Lord...."

Once a sinner, now pardoned.  A Christian is now a saint, who at times might sin.  If we stumble we go to the Father for forgiveness and get going on the way again.  The only thing we need to quit is to quit sinning and making excuses for it.

Look at the words of 1 John 2:1, "My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin.  BUT IF anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One."  (NIV, emphasis mine).  That "but if" indicates we do not have to sin, so, therefore, quit making excuses.  Do not sin, but if you do, dust yourself off and go to Christ.

"In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation." ~ Psalm 5:3

Does God hear your voice in the morning?? Or do you just hop out of bed and rush off to fight your personal battles without even so much as talking it over with the Lord!! Let alone dare we "wait in expectation" for Him to work the miracle that we need so desperately. Why are we so anvil headed that we won't give Jesus time to work in our lives?? It's because deep down, pride raises it's ugly head, and we think we have the answers to our own request and that WE are in control of our own destiny!! I like what T.D. Jakes called God...He called Him "the Puppet Master". He called God that because GOD is the one who is pulling all the strings, Puppet; NOT YOU!!! Next time you take a hard fall, look at what's splattered all over the mess in front of you.....PRIDE!!! ~Pastor Lynn

Proverbs 3:5 tells us to "Trust" in the Lord with all of our heart and to "lean not" or depend on our on understanding.  To Trust or not Trust God will control the complete meaning and direction of your life. If you choose not to Trust God, get ready to handle all the stress this old sinful world can lay on you all by yourself, get ready for constant unrest, lack of peace and strength.  Are you sure trusting in yourself and doing it your way is worth the pain!!  There is still time to change your mind.  "For thus saith the Lord God, the HOLY ONE of Israel: In returning (to God) and rest (in Him) shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence (Trust) shall be YOUR strength."  I would like to testify this morning that being Saved, Healed, and Delivered by Trusting Jesus is a much better path than the one I traveled for many years.  Make the right choice today and choose the good life for etenity!!!  ~Pastor Lynn

Psa 98:1 Sing a new song to the LORD; he has done wonderful things! By his own power and holy strength he has won the victory.
Psa 98:2 The LORD announced his victory; he made his saving power known to the nations.
Psa 98:3 He kept his promise to the people of Israel with loyalty and constant love for them. All people everywhere have seen the victory of our God.
Psa 98:4 Sing for joy to the LORD, all the earth; praise him with songs and shouts of joy!
Psa 98:5 Sing praises to the LORD! Play music on the harps!
Psa 98:6 Blow trumpets and horns, and shout for joy to the LORD, our king.

"A good gun is a thing to have, and a body never knows when he'll need it."

               --Louis L'Amour

It would have been a novelty to enter a western home and not find a gun.  Even in the homes of Quakers there was usually one for hunting.  The common pistol brands were Colt and Smith & Wesson, but it was not necessarily the company that made a good gun.  It was the man behind the gun; can he use it, does it fit him properly?

My hand is small, so I have not been able to feel comfortable with Smith & Wesson even if I change the grips.  Ruger has a much better feel in my hands.  I purchased a shotgun a few years ago.  It was between a 12-gauge and a 20-gauge.  I went with the 20-gauge because it slid up in my arms just right.

The price?  I know some people who have to have the most expensive, and I'm not talking ornamentation.  If it costs more it is better in their opinion.  When I purchased rifles I had to stay in a budget and usually it was Winchester and Remington that fit the budget unless it was a used rifle.

Perhaps there is an analogy with the principle weapon of the Christian--the Bible.  My mercy, which is best?  There are translations and paraphrases.  There are study Bibles, and devotional Bibles.  On my weapon shelf I have two New King James:  one has Vines Expository the other is Maxwell's Leadership.  On that shelf there is a New American Standard Wide-Margin, and a Phillips New Testament; a military Holman and an apologetics Holman, and I could go on.  For certain, some are better than others, and they have differing purposes.  The overall key is--does a person know how to use them?

Yes, you never know when you might have to use it, so get a good gun.  Just like your Bible, be efficient with it for you never know when you might have to use it.

"I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You."

Luke: 5:39 "No man also having drunk old wine straightway desires new: for he says, The old is better." Jesus gave this parable to the Scribes and Pharisees comparing old and new wine to our old sinful life and the prospect of repenting and living a new life that is much better. We often get too comfortable with the status quo and believe that OUR sinful ways of thinking and living are better than having to repent, believe in Christ, and we won't even "taste" or try HIS way of thinking and living. What an error!!! Do you still believe your old way of life is better?!! If so, you are as blind as the Scribes and Pharisees who rejected Jesus. New life in Christ is the best and sweetest wine you will ever taste, and the good part is...it will last forever!! ~Pastor Lynn

I believe that Jesus is very close to each and every one of us all the time.  The reason we sometimes feel alone is because our closeness and union with Him is invisible.  I am praying this morning for the Lord to open our Spiritual eyes so we can find Him where he is; and that is everywhere and in everything!!  This is not trying to escape reality, this is just tuning in to the ULTIMATE reality of His Presence.  I don't know about you, but I feel safer when I become aware of His presence and there is assurance of this Relationship that we hope for; there is proof of this thing that our natural senses cannot reveal, and it is called FAITH!!  Without Faith we will never please God or enjoy His presence.  Why should you believe in Him today??  "For in him we live and move and have our being." (Acts 17:28)  ~Pastor Lynn

"'Have gun will travel' reads the card of a man.

A knight without armor in a savage land."

               --Johnny Western

"Come tip-toe through the tulips with me."

               --Al Dubin

Remember all those great theme songs from the westerns?  Paladin, Wyatt Earp, Bonanza, Rawhide and the movies as well with The Magnificent Seven and High Noon are prime examples.  In fact, imagine this, someone the other day had the nerve to tell me that the Lone Ranger's Theme was actually a classical piece called "The William Tell Overture."  Can you believe their audacity?  Anyone growing up in the 40s, 50s, and 60s knows that song belongs to none other than the masked man himself.  I can still see and hear it, riding down the trail on Silver in the cloud of dust.

But here is the question from the Bunkhouse that needs to be answered:  What is your theme song?  Perhaps you're hand-in-hand with Tiny Tim tip-toeing through the tulips singing in a falsetto voice and denying reality.  Maybe more of a Paladin, and notice in the that theme the constant emphasis on the term "man."  Few of them left today as we see more and more cupcakes walking around.  Maybe your theme is more like that of the Salvation Army:  "Onward Christian Soldiers."

When people are around you what do they hear?  What song is represented by the way you walk, the way you speak, the way you live?  When a person hears a theme song they automatically think of the main character and the values shown forth in the show.  "Bonanza", men living in a harsh land, carving out a life on the Ponderosa with the family values of loyalty and commitment ever present.  I know for a fact that the sound of "Bonanza" would make Shauna and Kimberly sit up and take notice.  They knew that song would get me excited and that a slap on the leg would be forthcoming.

So many lives are scattered and scarred.  Maybe it's time that they think about a theme song for their lives.  John Newton did it when he wrote "Amazing Grace."  Think of the rifle shots and then the theme of the Rifleman and it shows him reloading ready to face another foe.  Are you standing up for right and against wrong or are you in a "Yellow Submarine?  Are you the "King of [your] wild frontier" fighting, surviving, struggling for the right, or are you living a life that is a farce?  What song is there coming from you that would depict your life?

"I know your works.  Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut."               --Revelation 3:8 (RSV)
