Spreading the love of Jesus...the Cowboy Way!

I know most run backwards from this subject but in reality it is the meat of salvation and I think we really fool ourselves when someone gets led to the Lord and we are so busy chalking up notches we totally miss them going back to there old life because we neglected to teach the whole truth. When he said to lay down your life and pick up your cross - that is exactly what he meant. People get frustrated mostly because we dont want to admit that it can be hard -we give up our will to do his will-and he tells us that there will be trials and persecution. The good news is we dont have to go it alone. The saddest thing is when you see a married couple all happy and excited to share there life and a few years latter you see them misserable and even divorced. That is what happens to so many who accept Jesus and then get pulled back down because no one told them about how to grow with God so they think this is all there is.Jesus said whoever puts his hand to the plow and looks back isnt fit for the kingdom.WOW ! How can we watch this and not cry foul ! It dosent matter your intentions,it is about overcomeing - if you get throwed you get up and run for safety ! If you stay down you will never make it. We are going to fall - but it is our responsibility to get up. The numbers look real good on the surface if we want to take credit for how many we "led to christ" what about when God opens that book and his numbers are way less because he wants to know why we lost most by not teaching them the full knowledge. Jesus is comeing back for his bride - How many will stand him up at the alter ? He said his people will be destroyed for lack of knowledge. We may face alot of persecution here but better here than there - God Bless Yall

I agree that as leaders of the church we need to have something in place for new believers. The plan that I have put into place at other places is to have an accountability team. This should be laypastors or people that have been saved for a while. These people (men and women) should have regular visits with the people under them. I would not give them more than 5 or 6 at a time. The time frame that I try to stick by is around 6 months. The pastor will meet with the accountability team regulary to discuss problems that need attention and  is the accountability person for the team as a whole. It is not easy and there are problems of people not following through or not being a good match but it is great for all involved. The accountability team agrees to pray for their people everyday and it is suggested that they send a scripture or inspirational message. They can create a group on facebook or through text message. A leader can send out a message to 6 people at once easily with all the technology we have today.

I hope this helps someone who is dealing with needing a way to train new believers. Send me a message if you would like to get more information or have questions.

I love this !
