2Co 4:17 And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble.
2Co 4:18 For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever.

JUST FOR TODAY: Be completely honest about everything with God. What good would it do for you to do other wise? You might fool other people and you might even fool yourself, but God has already searched you inside and out and He knows all about you; EVERYTHING. He knows when you are down; He knows when you are up. He understands your thoughts even before you think them. God completely surrounds everything that you do and there are no words you speak that He doesn't hear. So take all of your cares and problems, holding nothing back, to Him; ask Him to forgive and cleanse you of your sins. God is a great help in times of trouble and He is Faithful to forgive you. Just Trust Him and He will lead you in His ways that are everlasting. (Psalm 139:1-4,24) ~Pastor Lynn

"It is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others." (Ephesians 2:10 LB)

God calls you to a service far beyond anything you could ever imagine. You were put on Earth to make a contribution.

You weren’t created just to consume resources — to eat, breath, and take up space. God designed you to make a difference with your life. You were created to add to life on Earth, not just take from it. God wants you to give something back.

The Bible says, “In our union with Christ Jesus he has created us for a life of good deeds, which he has already prepared for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10b TEV). These “good deeds” are your service to the world. Whenever you serve others in any way, you are actually serving God and fulfilling one of your purposes (Colossians 3:23-24; Matthew 25:34-45; Ephesians 6:7).

What God told Jeremiah is also true for you: “Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work" (Jeremiah 1:5a NCV).

When most people think of this "special work," they think of pastors, priests, and professional clergy, but God says every member of his family is to minister. In the Bible, the words "servant" and "minister" are synonyms, as are service and ministry. If you are a Christian, you are a minister, and when you’re serving, you’re ministering.

Have you ever wondered why God doesn’t just immediately take us to Heaven the moment we accept his grace? Why does he leave us in a fallen world? He leaves us here to fulfill his purposes. Once you are saved, God intends to use you for his goals. God has a ministry for you in his Church and a mission for you in the world.
We must always remember that a Missionary is't someone who crosses the sea, a Missionary is someone who see's the Cross!
We must revive our nation, so that it will survive and thrive in this fallen world!
God Bless

Mat 6:24 "You cannot be a slave of two masters; you will hate one and love the other; you will be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Mat 6:26 Look at the birds: they do not plant seeds, gather a harvest and put it in barns; yet your Father in heaven takes care of them! Aren't you worth much more than birds?

God’s people are doubly his children, they are his offspring by creation, and they are his sons by adoption in Christ. Hence they are privileged to call him, “Our Father which art in heaven.” Father! Oh, what precious word is that. Here is authority: “If I be a Father, where is mine honour?” If ye be sons, where is your obedience? Here is affection mingled with authority; an authority which does not provoke rebellion; an obedience demanded which is most cheerfully rendered-which would not be withheld even if it might. The obedience which God’s children yield to him must be loving obedience. Do not go about the service of God as slaves to their taskmaster’s toil, but run in the way of his commands because it is your Father’s way. Yield your bodies as instruments of righteousness, because righteousness is your Father’s will, and his will should be the will of his child. Father!-Here is a kingly attribute so sweetly veiled in love, that the King’s crown is forgotten in the King’s face, and his sceptre becomes, not a rod of iron, but a silver sceptre of mercy-the sceptre indeed seems to be forgotten in the tender hand of him who wields it. Father!-Here is honour and love. How great is a Father’s love to his children! That which friendship cannot do, and mere benevolence will not attempt, a father’s heart and hand must do for his sons. They are his offspring, he must bless them; they are his children, he must show himself strong in their defence. If an earthly father watches over his children with unceasing love and care, how much more does our heavenly Father? Abba, Father! He who can say this, hath uttered better music than cherubim or seraphim can reach. There is heaven in the depth of that word-Father! There is all I can ask; all my necessities can demand; all my wishes can desire. I have all in all to all eternity when I can say, “Father.” ~ Spurgeon

JUST FOR TODAY: When you feel like you have lost your direction and you don't know which way to go, it's time to acknowledge God and give Him credit for being all knowing. When God knows you Love Him and Trust in Him, He will direct your path in the right direction. Don't ever think you are so smart in your own eyes. Instead be reverent and respectful of the Lord; don't hang out and be friends with those that are evil and don't commit evil yourself. Depart and separate yourself from ALL evil! "It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones." Being on the right path with a healthy belly and strong bones seems to me like the making of a good trip through this life. (Proverbs 3:6-7) ~Pastor Lynn

JUST FOR TODAY: Do not let Mercy and Truth be something you have only read about on a piece of paper, but "bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart."  Then Mercy and Truth will be the way you live and not something you have vaguely heard about.  Never forsake Mercy and Truth in your life and "So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.  You will reap whatever you sow; if you are on the recieving end of unforgiveness and lies, maybe you should change what you are dishing out!!  (Proverbs 3:3-4)  ~Pastor

Psa 61:1 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer!
Psa 61:2 In despair and far from home I call to you! Take me to a safe refuge,
Psa 61:3 for you are my protector, my strong defense against my enemies.
Psa 61:4 Let me live in your sanctuary all my life; let me find safety under your wings.

"If you're afraid to use something for the purpose it was intended, it isn't worth a nickel."           --Ken Wales

"Many a man who carried a rope for catching strays balanced it with a Bible in his saddle bag."               --Elmer Kelton

I have a Lansky, the Edgemaker, two steel bars and one ceramic, an Arkansas whetstone, and a dry hone.  Everyone of these will do the job it just depends upon the user and his preference.  I also have several knives:  butcher knives, pairing knives, hunting knives, pocketknives.  Everyone of these will do the job that it was made to do.  Well, there is one thing--they need to be sharp.  It does not do a bit of good to have all of those sharpeners and all of those knives if they just sit there.  They must be put to use.

There are fifteen definitions in the dictionary for "sharp."  However, the first one states, "having a thin edge or a fine point suitable for or capable of cutting or piercing." To use a blade for its intended use it must be sharp.  It is very dangerous to use a dull blade, on the other hand a sharp one is dangerous for someone who does not use the blade for its intended purpose or becomes nonchalant.

Just a couple of thoughts.  After use, the blade must be sharpened again.  It does its job, but then the user must sharpen it.  Hmmm, perhaps in the use of God's Word, it is the user that must be sharpened over and over.  A person is sharpened by being in God's Word and by each other.  A person is sharpened by being alert as they go through this world.  The blade might become dull, but then back to the Word.  Do a bit of your own pondering on the sharp sword of the Spirit.

Now here is what I have been pondering. "If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword; he has bent and readied his bow;" (Psalm 7:12, ESV)  Now that sounds to me that God is ready for action.  His bow is ready to be used.  Now, picture Him sitting on the throne, sword in hand, honing it for use.  It is a picture that we shun, ignore, or perhaps do not even believe.  God is love and good, He is not the kind to hone a blade to use it.  Yet, does not the Scripture declare that He had brought a sword to the earth to divide it.  Go on to the next verse and it says He prepares His deadly weapons.

                                 D. Adkisson

"For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart."

               --Hebrews 4:12 (Amplified)

JUST FOR TODAY: Don't be concerned or worry about not having enough FAITH.  Like all good things, Faith comes from the Lord, and He will always supply you with the amount of Faith that you need to accomplish whatever He has planned for your life.  Remember that Jesus said if we have Faith the size of a mustard seed, which is extremely small, "nothing shall be impossible unto you".   Your problems are not caused by having "little" faith; your problems are caused by using your faith too little!!  (Matthew 17:20)  ~Pastor Lynn

JUST FOR TODAY: This day may not be perfect, but the God that we serve is; He is the Eternal God who is our refuge.  We can go through this day with all of its problems and not have to worry and fear because "underneath are the everlasting arms" of our Lord.  We shall find safety and prosperity in our God.  So be happy all you born again Christians for there are none like us.  We are Saved by the Lord, He is our shield when we need help, and He is the Sword of our excellency!!  We have found Satan and all of his henchmen to be liars unto us, and we will tread upon them and their lies.  Go forward today and give Him Praise all the way!!  (Deuteronomy 33:26-29)  ~Pastor Lynn

JUST FOR TODAY: The things that weigh us down are things like worry, fear, hate, unforgiveness, and of course "the sin which doth so easily beset us..."  We CAN lay aside all of these things and "run with patience the race that is set before us" if we keep our eyes on Jesus and stay focused on Him.  Remember how Peter walked on the water?  He could do this only while he was looking at Jesus.  The moment he took his eyes off Jesus he began to fear and down he went!!  "Looking unto Jesus" will always make us winners because HE is the beginning and the finisher of our FAITH!!  Let us always keep our eyes upon Jesus, consider always what He endured on the cross for our sakes, and we will never be "wearied and faint" in our minds!!  (Hebrews 12:1-3)  ~Pastor Lynn

JUST FOR TODAY: What mighty work is God doing through your life because of your FAITH??  Oh....not much lately??  Maybe you better quit walking by what you see and get you some of this substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  You can read in your Bible about all kinds of folks who through their FAITH subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, and turned to flight the armies of foreign nations!!  Lord please help us walk in FAITH today and may you wrought mighty works in us all.  GIVE HIM PRAISE!!  (HEBREWS 11:1, 33, 34)  ~Pastor Lynn
