Please tell us about how you are associated with or involved in the cowboy church/ministry community.
I am a Methodist Local Preacher. (I was ordained by a Non-denominational Organisation but resigned in order to return to preaching. I needed to preach more than I needed a title.) I currently preach at 6 churches in the area in which I live. My style of preaching does not meet the normal style of UK churches. I play guitar and include may western style gospel songs during times of worship. I also preach/talk for short periods and try not to give lengthy sermons. This is welcomed by most churches and leads to a more heart felt but relaxed form of meeting. I have led meetings in hospitals/prisons/informal gatherings of mixed church members where the emphasis is on cowboy/gospel music and informality. ( I could always send you a copy of my book about my exciting conversion to God 20 years ago) I am ex-military (22 years). I was also a (very poor) pop/rock singer in the late 1950's.
How did you find out about ICCAN?
I have been in contact with a lady called Marjorie Reece from S.Carolina for quite a while. (she kindly edited my book) I believe she is a member of a cowboy church and I figured my style and approach to worship fits like a glove to those of a cowboy church.
