The promises of God are of no value to us until, through obedience, we come to understand the nature of God. We may read some things in the Bible every day for a year and they may mean nothing to us. Then, because we have been obedient to God in some small detail, we suddenly see what God means and His nature is instantly opened up to us. “All the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen . . .” (2 Corinthians 1:20). Our “Yes” must be born of obedience; when by obedience we ratify a promise of God by saying, “Amen,” or, “So be it.” That promise becomes ours. ~Oswald Chambers

Many folks will admit their sin, but most will not give it up anymore than they can fly under their own power.  They say, "I'm only human, you know!!"  Well, you are not "only human" if you are a born again Christian with the Holy Spirit living within you!!  This is exactly the SAME spirit that dwelled in Christ Himself that guided Him and gave Him the strength to do all that God called Him to do.  And we can ALL be and do what God calls us to do if we will stop making up "I'm only human" excuses and start being obedient to the Holy Spirit the way Jesus was.  We must realize just how poor in spirit we really are before we know we can't do it with out Jesus, but snap to the fact that we can do all things with Him.  This is truly the door to the Kingdom of God!!  ~Pastor Lynn
Matthew 5:3 ~"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven."

GOT JESUS??  I hope so; then you can sing along with Linda Glass when she sings "NOW I HAVE EVERYTHING".  I am in agreement with old Apostle Paul when he told the Corinthians, "I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified."  It's not about religion, economics, politics, denominations, rituals, or anything else: It's all about Jesus and what he did on the cross of Calvary for all of us.  What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his own soul because he refuses to believe in Jesus and accept what he did on the cross.  Everything the world has to offer will either be stolen, rot, rust, die, or be used up!!  You can lose it all or have it all.  GET IT?  GET JESUS!!  Blessings, ~Pastor Lynn

Jesus said, "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." ~John 15:8
So, if you are a disciple of Jesus you must glorify God, His Father, and you accomplish that by bearing "much fruit".  Ok, so how do we "bear much fruit"??  Spiritual fruit is similar to physical fruit in that they both come from seeds.  You have three choices today: you can plant good seeds, you can plant evil seeds, or you can just live in apathy and plant no seeds.  To plant good seeds means to get out there and Love God, Love other people, and tell everyone you know and meet about Jesus by the way you live and the words you speak.  The more you plant the more good fruit you will bear and the more your Father will be glorified.  I am praying for a whole lot of Plantin' goin' on!!!  ~Pastor Lynn

"And that you may Love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to Him." ~Deuteronomy 30:20 Jesus said that the number one commandment was to Love God and this scripture tells you how you may do this.  First, you must listen to what God says.  A true listener is not only a hearer but a doer of what he hears.  This will help you to Love God because you will discover that ever time you obey His Word, your life will become better, stronger, fuller, and more complete.  Then second, you must "hold fast" which means to hang on and continue on; do not fall away or be distracted by the doings of this old fallen world around you.  These things will lead you to know how much God truly Loves you and then you can't help but Love Him back because He is so good to you.  God knows the worst about you but He also knows the best and He has planted great gifts deep in your soul that will become extremely fruitful if you will be obedient, hang on to Him, and Love Him with all of your heart.  ~Pastor Lynn
Believing the best is much better than fearing the worst. ~Pastor Lynn
Jesus told Peter, "Feed my sheep".  Since then there have been many and still are many men of God working to feed God's sheep.  The sheep now also have a wonderful self-feeder.  It's called the New Testament!!!  Open one up today and dig in; it is delicious!!  ~Pastor Lynn

"Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" ~Matthew 11:28 The questions in life that truly matter are remarkably few, and they are all answered by these words ~ "Come to Me".  Jesus did not say, "Do this or don't do that," but simply "COME TO ME".  This is the place where sin and sorrow stop and the song of the believer starts!!  If you will just come to Jesus, your real life will be brought into line with your true desires.  You will actually cease from sin, and you will find the song of the Lord beginning in your life.  If you have never come to Jesus, you must look at and over come the stubbornness in your heart.  There is no other way and no other cure to over come sin but this one childlike thing~ "Come to Me."  If you really want to stop sinning and stop the destruction it causes in your life and those around you, you must come to Jesus.  ~Pastor Lynn

"By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.  But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices god is well pleased." ~Hebrews 13:15-16
Praising God is an easy thing to do when you are on the mountain top and things are going well; like loving those who love you, that's not much of a sacrifice, but sometimes it seems the mountain top moves out from under us and we find ourselves in a pit of despair.  But praising God when you are in the pit, now that is a real sacrifice that pleases God and it is a sure fire way to get out of that pit of despair and self-pity!!  So.......I will praise you, oh Lord!!  I WILL PRAISE YOU LORD WITH ALL OF MY HEART!!!  YOU ARE THE LIFTER OF MY HEAD AND YOU WILL PLACE MY FEET BACK ON A SOLID ROCK ON HIGHER GROUND!!!  I CALL YOU FATHER AND FRIEND AND THEIR IS NONE OTHER LIKE YOU!!!  OH MIGHTY GOD I GIVE YOU PRAISE!!!  Wow!!!  Don't you feel better now??  I do.  Thank you Jesus!!  I think I'll go up to the church, fire up my piano, and sing some Worship songs!!  ~Pastor Lynn

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." ~Isaiah 41:10
You and I change drastically over the years as well as our circumstances, but Jesus remains the same no matter what happens or how much time passes, and He will always be there for us.  So after reading this scripture, your day should not be filled with fear and dismay.  If it is, then you have made the mistake a lot of folks make of knowing what the Word says, but not really believing it.  Even if you know the promises of God, you will not receive them if you don't believe them.  Am I saying that believing is more important than knowledge??  Well, God didn't say you couldn't please him without knowledge; He said you couldn't please Him without FAITH!!  I believe God will strengthen you and help you today; I believe He will lift you up with His righteous right hand.  Believing in God will allow Him to work in your life today!!!  Many Blessings, ~Pastor Lynn

Tell somebody about Jesus today!!  You don't have to be a Bible scholar and quote scripture after scripture to be an effective witness to folks.  Just tell them of all the wonderful things Jesus has done...... in YOUR life.  You cannot witness to folks about what you have not experienced or seen with your own eyes!!  Just tell it like it is with Joy and Praises in your heart. Many folks don't understand or believe the Bible, but an honest and true testimony from someone with a personal relationship with Jesus is hard to refute and disbelieve.  Your words will cause a lost person to think long and hard about what you said, and the Holy Spirit will take care of the rest!! (See Psalm 9:1-2) ~Pastor Lynn

Justice Antonin Scalia said prayers in a legislative setting were different from ones in court ........ “People who have religious beliefs,” he said, “ought to be able to invoke the deity when they are acting as citizens and not as judges.” I don't think this is what our forefathers had in mind when they talked about separation between church and state. My Bible says that believers should pray about ALL things and without ceasing, and God certainly does not put any limitations on that in regards to a persons job, but the wisdom of this judge says that it is ok to call on and appeal to God as a citizen but NOT as a judge??  Seems to me that "invoking" God for guidance and Godly wisdom would be a wonderful asset for a judge.   With thinking like this in our judicial system, do you think we might need  to pray for all of our judges to receive Godly wisdom and guidance, and also our legislative and executive branches as well?  Maybe we should also pray about voting some of them OUT of office as well.  Lord, help us.  ~Pastor Lynn

"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."  Proverbs 17:22 Once again you have a choice to make.  Isn't Free Will such a marvelous and wonderful thing?  Well, it is IF you use it wisely and make good choices.  Letting adverse or unpleasant circumstances crush your spirit and turn you into an old bag of dried up bones is not a good choice today.  TAKE YOUR MEDICINE!!  Cheer up!!  Jesus has overcome the world!!  Don't walk by what you see and "feel"; walk by faith in Jesus Christ because you  know that what He says is true just because He said so!!  When you answer that phone today, make sure the folks on the other end can tell that you have a smile on your face by the words you use and the manner in which you speak them.  Can you see me grinnin'? ~Pastor Lynn

Sarah Young wrote, "If you make problem solving secondary to the goal of living close to [Jesus], you can find Joy even your most difficult days." The old prophet, Habakkuk, said it kind of like this, "I don't care if the fig tree don't bloom, I don't care if there ain't no grapes in the vineyard, I don't care if the cotton crop fails or the wheat don' grow, and there may not be any sheep in the pen or cattle in the pasture; it don't make no difference cause I'm STILL gonna rejoice in the Lord, I will find my Joy in God my Savior!!! The one and only, Sovereign Lord is my strength and you know He makes my feet like the feet of a buck deer so I can run, and jump, and climb and go on to new heights and get out of this mess!!! (see Habakkuk 3:17-19) The moral of the story?? Stay focused on Jesus and keep on climbing because your Joy does NOT depend on your circumstances. I am praying that you find higher ground and Joy in the Lord today. Blessings, ~Pastor Lynn

I cried out unto the Lord and said,
"How can I have a better day??"
He answered, " Son, just pray and be thankful,
and I will lead the way!!"
But, Lord, that seems too simple.
There has to be more than that??
"Just Trust in me and do what I say,
That's where your Peace is at!!"

So, I ain't gonna worry
I know God knows what's best.
I've said my prayers and told Him Thanks,
now He will do the rest!!

Well, you have two choices this morning.  You can focus on your circumstances and your problems and worry about everything; then you can make your plan of action and try to "fix" everything yourself.....OR, instead, you can focus on Jesus and not worry about ANYTHING, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God.  The first choice will lead you to frustration, giving up, failure and STRESS!!!  Oh, but that second choice!!!  "AND THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH PASSETH ALL UNDERSTANDING, SHALL KEEP YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS"  Now think about that for a moment......you really do have a choice between the turmoil of the world through Satan, or the Peace of God through Jesus Christ.  Now is this not a "no brainer" or what??  (See Philippians 4:6-7)  ~Pastor Lynn

"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." (Hebrews 4:16) I Love this scripture, but I need more than just to "approach" the throne of grace this morning. I need to enter into His Rest. I have heard the Gospel preached and now I preach it myself, but the Word preached will not profit anyone who hears it unless it is mixed with FAITH!! Let us not "come short" of a promise left us of entering into His rest because of unbelief. Join me this morning in entering into His rest through Trusting, Believing, and having Faith in God's Word and Promises!! (Hebrews 3:18-19, 4:1-3) "FOR WE WHICH HAVE BELIEVED DO ENTER INTO REST, AS HE SAID....."  ~Pastor Lynn

Psa 5:11 But all who find safety in you will rejoice; they can always sing for joy. Protect those who love you; because of you they are truly happy.
Psa 5:12 You bless those who obey you, LORD; your love protects them like a shield.

I yelled to my grandkids as they ran to the school bus this morning, "Look sharp, and be excellent!!"  That's what their Nana Casey is always telling them to do.  Pretty good advice for all of us today.  So, look sharp; that always starts with a big smile on your face.  What good does it do to have a fancy hair do and nice clothes if you go around lookin' like you've been baptized in pickle juice!!  And be excellent; don't worry about what the world expects out of you, stay focused on Jesus and do what He has called you to do; be kind and thoughtful of others; resist the devil and he will run off.  It is not the rich, powerful, and beautiful people who are the excellent ones, but the ones who Love God, Love others, and show everybody they meet the Love of Jesus through the way they live.  It is "not by might, and not by power, but by My Spirit" thus sayeth the Lord.  LOOK SHARP AND BE EXCELLENT!!!  ~Pastor Lynn
